All my posts within this topic I'm doing for football teams from the Hampton Roads, 7 city or 757 area.  Greats such as Lawrence Taylor, Kenny Eason, Michael Vick, Ronald Curry, Tyrod Taylor, Allen Iverson, Aaron Brooks, Jerod Mayo, Darryl Blackstock,Dwight Stephensen, and many others have dominated the gridiron in Southeast VA. A lot of teams in the area have some of the most unique looks I have ever seen. Feel free to add your hs uniform gallery from your hometown or give your thoughts on any uniforms shown.

1. Hampton Crabbers

Has 18 state titles

2 National titles

Number 9 ranked dynasty

Winningest program in Virginia

Notable players:

Marques Hagans, Tyrod Taylor, Dwight Stephenson, Ronald Curry, Elton Brown, Al Vanderwege, Chris Hanberger, Carlos Campbell, Jimmy Williams, Robert Banks, and Micahel Husted

Hanberger and Stevenson are NFL Hall of Famers.

Ronald Curry was the greatest High School quarterback of all time if not player of all time had he focused solely on Football in college he would have been a lot better and we'll start in the NFL as a quarterback. As a matter of fact he was better than Michael Vick in high school. But after starting as the Tar Heels point guard and going through for offensive coordinators in four years it limited his growth.

For years Hampton football players unknown to be smaller and not as athletic as other teams however are one of the top well coached programs in the country for the last four decades

Hampton uses a wide tackle 6 defense which is extremely rare in football. Also there are rumors that players in the eighties and nineties he used to do push-ups on the top of the roof and talk to trees before games. Physical training every year for the program is very demanding.

Phoebus High School

Hampton, VA

Rivalry: Hampton (Biggest in VA)

7 State Titles from 2001 to 2011

Notable players: Antoine Womack, Marahawn Williams (Also Hampton first 2 yrs). Elan Lewis, Xavier and Nathan Adibi, Carlos Campbell ( Also Hampton),  Tahj Boyd.

No real notable NFL careers only three made it on NFL rosters, a good number of players from this program don't make it all four years in college.

Phoebus are usually well built to get cocky players. Their program is more based on Swagger than discipline however do not let them fool you they will knock your block off. The Phantom's uniforms started as a blue and yellow and transition to Blue and Gold and as of 2016 they are experimenting with black.  Arguably one of the great  dynasties in high school football from 2001 to 2011

Glad to see a Hamptonian on here. I'm not a native but my dad's side of the family is from the 757. Its like my home away from home. Grandparents use to live on Dare Ave by Shell Rd. Got family property out in Surry County.

My grandfather (Sussex Central alum) use to take me to Darling Stadium on weeknights to catch Tyrod and Tajh play growing up. Wilkes BBQ was a traditional pregame spot.

I can see if I can find some Phenix High photos (now defunct) to post. Also, seeing Phoebus (2010s) beat Stone Bridge (DMV, Northern VA, Loudoun County) every other year in the playoffs put a big smile on his face before he passed away last fall.

Bethel Bruins

Hampton, VA

3 State Titles

Notable players: Allen Iverson, Chris Ellis, Jimmy Williams (Also Hampton), Marques Hagans, Todd Kelly, James Gayle, Shaun Gayle, Jontel Evans, Todd Kelly, Mike London

Bethel is the most talented of all four Hampton schools, however that hasn't translated to wins at times, it being the most populous high school in the Hampton Newport News area yields D1 athletes every year. Allen Iverson was the greatest player there.

Also strong track and basketball program

Bethel green and gold was in honor of Green Bay packers colors. They have usually consistent looks uniform wise.

I am born and raised in Hampton so being familiar with high school football and something that I've always taken pride in. I've always been drawn to logos and jerseys.. so this website is a great release for me. For instance Hampton use of every uniform by everyone for the last 30 years it's something that's very unique that must change do not do. Hampton almost every year really two and a half years and get a new set of uniforms they're all really cool looking and unique. Also I'm sorry to hear that about your dad but it's cool to see someone else from Hampton that's up here. It was tradition of ours to Bojangles biscuits and chicken before the games awesome darling Stadium it is a unique and beautiful

Kecoughtan High School

1962

Hampton, VA

1997 State Championship runner up

Notable players

Jerod Mayo

Deron Mayo

Macey Brooks

Derrick Fenner ( Also Hampton)

Gary Smith

Kecoughtan Warriors a team with mixed success over the last half century or so produces a semi rivalry with the three other schools in Hampton. The Warriors traditionally are a Kelly green and white team. Sometimes they use black and ascents of silver in their most recent uniforms. The K and FSU arrow along with the Native American logo are pretty cool looks. The best in my opinion are the FSU inspired helmets with the the Kelly green colts inspired uniforms.
