I vote the third option, just stop posting about your hatred for the Cubs. At this point, we all get that.

Well then, we'll just swap "Cubs" with "Mariners" in your little statement. They have a similar enough record of futility.

Universe didn't implode when the Red Sox, White Sox, Giants, and Royals won World Series despite "cursed" status. The Cubs are probably next in line.

Two random observations I made this morning.

1) I hope the news outlets will stick with interviewing the older people, regardless of the winner, those first few days in November. A drought of no less than 65 years will be broken and I'd rather not see folks under 30 go off about how much it means to them, cause honestly, it doesn't mean as much to the older folks. I would be much more content seeing baby boomer fans of both franchises get their moments in the sun for a change.

2) From a trivia perspective, it would've been great if the Cubs had done it back in 2003. You couldn't write it any better than having the three longest droughts in the MLB broken right after each other. Would've made a very cool factoid.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

What you had instead:

- The Cubs losing

- The other cursed baseball team winning

- The other Chicago baseball team winning

- The Cubs' biggest rival winning

- The other cursed baseball team winning again

- The New Orleans Saints winning

- The Chicago hockey team winning three times

- The long-droughted San Francisco Giants winning three times

- A Cleveland sports team winning

We're just dancing around it every which way here. Everyone gets theirs but the Cubs.

Well, to be fair, Dodgers Stadium is built into the side of a big hill. It has to have more room by its very nature. Wrigley Field by comparison is somewhat of an imposing structure in that neighborhood, while Dodgers Stadium is kind of invisible. They also reflect the two different types of transportation cultures each city has. They're starkly different, but both are magnificent ball parks. Probably my #2 and #3 favorite parks behind AT&T. The recent renovations to Dodgers Stadium are absolutely the way a renovation should be, and have really transformed the pro from kind of a dump in a terrific setting, to downright iconic. It's very much like Wrigley and Fenway (even though I thought Fenway kinda sucked), in that it's kind of a representation of its era frozen in time.

Yeah, it's not an indictment of Dodger Stadium, which I love, just a look at how different the two cities are in layout and density. I love the renovations they've done, too. I know I've raved about the early-'60s California pastel seats.

As a television viewer in Central Time and not a ticketholder who had to be hassled by the local start times, I'm glad we got to see the park at sunset. Very cool.

Goodness gracious. How mad are you at a team that could win the World Series? Have they done anything to you personally?

If it's Cubbies/Indians, I don't care who wins. I had players from both sides on my fantasy squad this year. EITHER WAY, WE SEE A TEAM THAT HASN'T WON IT ALL IN LONG TIME BREAK THAT STREAK. The Dodgers basically paid their way to get this far.

BTW, why are you rooting for the Dodgers when you have a Padres logo as your avatar?

Ehhhhh. Look, their setbacks and inability to win is quite the sad story. But the Tribe have got a pretty good one themselves, seeing how they got to the WS twice in the 90s, including giving away a lead in the final inning. At least you guys can bond over a hatred of Miami/Florida, amirite?

Not to mention the Rangers would have their own claim to that title, being around 40 plus years and getting a chance to be the prequel to the Royals, except they couldn't hang on for one more strike twice. Suffice to say, we can have a pissing match about which fanbase has agonized the most, but at least some group who hasn't had a slice of pie in a while gets a taste.

Also, if I were you, I'd see about going. There's a very real chance the Sox would be there again while I'm above the ground, rather than below it, so even if you do need to become some broker's girlfriend, it's worth the sacrifice.

Heck, forgotten in all of this is that the Dodgers have also gone over 25 years without a pennant. They last went to the World Series in 1988.

I would never call the Dodgers tortured, but that's a significant time for a "legacy" team to be away from the Fall Classic. I know that I'm supposed to be rooting for "team not-Dodgers," but a Dodger championship would be good for the best rivalry in baseball.

NO. I've talked FAR too much trash for that to happen. Especially right now ?
