SFGiants58 14,557 Posted October 6, 2016 Conor Gillaspie and the Legendary MadBum, keeping Even Year Bulls**t alive, at least for another round of the playoffs. Bring on the Cubbies! If we go down, at least we can go down fighting!

the admiral 29,061 Posted October 6, 2016 http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/major-league-baseball-is-about-to-get-random/ Quote San Francisco Giants (3 percent) While the Cubs fell in the second half from historically great to merely fantastic, the Giants dropped from probable division winners to meltdown–prone also-rans. Their collapse hasn’t quite been historic, but their second-half statistics don’t bode well for the playoffs (at least, to the very limited extent that second-half performance matters). More worrisome, their bullpen has been atrocious, stretching even Bruce Bochy’s ability to manage around it. Then again, the Giants have a tradition of overcoming regular-season problems to overperform in October, and they still have Madison Bumgarner. Still, when a team’s playoff hopes rest on numerology (it’s an even year!) and repeating one of the greatest postseason performances of all time, it’s reasonable to conclude that they simply aren’t very likely to win the World Series. Elo agrees with that assessment, giving them only a 3 percent shot, even-year magic be damned. Nate Tin

Crabcake 1,718 Posted October 6, 2016 I'm getting tired of the Giants. I'm pretty sure I've rooted for them in each of their last three WS apps, but now this is just getting ridiculous. Go Cubs.
Sport 14,511 Posted October 6, 2016 I was sleepy and turned it off after the Mets took out Syndergaard. I checked my phone fully expecting a Giants win. Go Cubs.
Thomas 497 Posted October 6, 2016 Anyone besides me that hated that strike zone graphic ESPN plastered right in the middle of the TV screen !? So f**** annoying and distracting. Don´t put something that is not really there on the screen ! It was like NHL fox track with the blue puck. Everything ESPN touches turns to ! Are the saying: "Why have an umpire ? look what we can do !" Just leave the game alone and don´t put crap on the screen.
DiePerske 2,103 Posted October 6, 2016 at this point? Go Giants. This even year thing still is kinda fun, not to mention I do honestly like MadBum
FinsUp1214 5,728 Posted October 6, 2016 I'm only listening to Blue Jays-Rangers on the radio and am not viewing it right now, but it sure sounds like Hamels is throwing a batch of these: I mean, yikes.

Dalcowboyfan92 427 Posted October 7, 2016 I was hoping Toronto was going to win Game 1, when I checked Facebook and briefly saw a score say 7-0, I said to myself; "That can't be right." So I checked ESPN and it was 7-0 Jays. That was something I wasn't expecting. I was expecting a much closer Game 1, with the Jays wining a really close one (something like 6-4/6-5, not 10-1).
