Logo concept for a San Antonio team

I may likely use this for a soccer concept, as I know SA is trying to get an MLS team. What do you think so far? What kind of colors do you think this logo should have? It's black and grey for now, until I can think of something better.

I think the one on the left would work pretty well as a Spurs alternate, maybe something they could put on their shorts or the waistband "buckle." However, I'd thin out the lines, at least on the Texas outline — but if all three were the same size, that would be best.

When you interlock the S,A, and the state outline - the shape of the state gets lost. Almost to the point that it is not recognizable.

Maybe you could interlock the S and A only.

Maybe you could use the S and A as a part of the outline of the state (like this https://dribbble.com/shots/1863301-Texas).
