The same visual effect Nike is seeing with its striped raglan sleeves. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
aawagner011
Germany primary kit for WC18 said to be inspired by 1990 design but with tonal shades of black and gray. Could still be really good but won't be as good as it could be. http://www.footyheadlines.com/2017/06/germany-2018-world-cup-home-kit.html?m=
hendocfc
I've seen the mentioned graphic and it's made up of black lines getting smaller in each section... there's no gray up close. Reckon there could be minimal black/red/gold trim somewhere else, don't think they'll go completely monochrome.

Hopefully it's decent but I'll be sad they are reviving such a classic kit and not doing it the full justice it deserves. We need the full colors of the flag. Since you've seen it, is the pattern basically the same shape as the original?
hendocfc
Yes,pretty much the same shape.
aawagner011
Good to know. Does it go across the sleeves, too, or is it limited to the chest? If it's true reproduction (besides the colors), then the stripes should be on the sleeves as well.

Berlin Wall
Wasn't the last WC kit also supposed to be inspired by this look? At least the shorts will be black this time. I'm a simple person, I have a pixelated David Beckham as profile photo since 2010.
hendocfc
No,this one was something different, supposed to be inspired by... nothing, really. It was just adidas' attempt at something "fresh and youthful" *cringes*

Adidas does make a lot of bad looks but in soccer they seem to have it figured out and this kit specifically was one of them better ones in the WC
hendocfc
It is a bad look, for me at least! The chevron looks tacky and the white shorts made absolutely no sense.
