Midway Posted August 24, 2017 Share Posted August 24, 2017 In regards to Indiana, I think adidas did a good enough job aside from the stupid rock pattern. Still, the unis are no longer pedestrian and the helmet is much improved. Oregon's is a winner. Not my favorite color scheme but the base design is sharp and I hope they make it consistent for all their unis. Overall I'd say today was a good uniform day. I agree, the numerals may be not completely legible; perhaps make them yellow outlines in silver. But the helmet is a jewel, and all the details are phenomenal. Also, I'd LOVE if the Devils ditched the Fork on the helmet for Sparky. Keep it on the pants and upgrade Sparky back to the lids. I like the fork, and it's a solid primary logo of the athletic department, but they gotta get Sparky back on the helmets. I get where you're coming from, and I understand the cause. It's a good cause, even. I don't have any issue with it as a theme and the rest of it I don't mind at all. I actually really like the uniform quite a bit. But the duck stomping out cancer is still really contrived and kinda weird. It's like they took it just a step too far and it comes across a bit strange and disingenuous, I guess? I dunno. That's just how I feel. The non-tiger striped helmets would look a lot better if the logos were on both sides. I think gray/blue/gray looked the best. The jerseys are pretty cool. I would guess that Memphis and MTSU are trying their best to not look like each other. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. But we have to remember this is coming from a 10 year old kid so we cant expect it to be great. Still, nice to see Oregon doing this. upperV03 Posted August 26, 2017 Share Posted August 26, 2017 In the spring I received some hints from a couple of people connected with the Oregon football program that the Ducks would be getting some new yellow helmets for this season, and, based on a couple of the players' Snapchat and Instagram stories from today, it looks like those hints were correct: And based on that last image, it seems like there's a decent chance that these will be the helmets they wear in their season opening game against Southern Utah next Saturday. The school’s finishing up a renovation/expansion project at Notre Dame Stadium, and in the process, have re-signed everything. They’ve used an Art Deco theme I’ve really liked — and if they weren’t going to do a proper throwback, I think white Art Deco numbers on a navy jersey (perhaps with a little striping) would’ve actually been a really nice way to make something that looks nice, but is also unique enough that they can sell it at the bookstore.
