Moon turned down a contract & a signing bonus from the Braves after being drafted, so yeah he did turn down some bucks. He was on the team, but left to join the war before playing a game. So yeah, it is pretty comparable. Both gave up pro careers & lost their lives in the war. I will never discount anything Tillman did. It goes beyond words the sacrifice he made & I’ll always respect that. But the way Normal whores out his legacy is shameful. I’ll take UA’s worst uniforms over some mustard & rust adidas dumpster uniforms. That’s all I’m gonna say about it. ✌?
Seadragon76
It'll look weird to see Ohio State being in something that isn't a school color (Unless black is a school color...). That's just me though. BTW, no one here (and by that, I mean me) cares about the Mildcats or the Sun Dorks. While it's nice that Arizona State continues to honor Pat Tillman, I wonder... where does it end? There's a fine line between honoring a man and whoring his name out for a few bucks. Oh I don't disagree with this at all. I'll even go as far as to say that Tillman's legacy is a bit of a conflict for a lot of people because there's a lot of reports that he wasn't quite the "hero" he's been made out to be. What I'm saying though is that the University itself usually handles it in a mostly tasteful and respectful manner, which I've always appreciated because it's taken a lot of that into account. I'm also not really much for this current set because it kinda does take it too far, IMO, and it feels strongly motivated by Adidas (at least in my personal experience with the school). I pretty much stated that from my first post on this. But it's still awfully rich hearing those from the junior college down south pass judgement when basically their entire football legacy is based on something similar. kabbey520
PS- The “junior college” that didn’t have to throw a pass in the 2nd half to blow out North Guadalupe Normal Teacher’s College. Carry on...
FiddySicks
I'm gonna preface this by saying that the ENTIRE state of Arizona is a trash pit, so throwing shade at the Phoenix area doesn't phase me in the slightest. I was kissing the ground when I got out of that godforsaken sauna. But still, Phoenix is less of a trashpit (somehow) than Tucson. Also, ROZE BOWLZ, BITCHEZ. Swap ABQ with Tucson. Saying "ROZE BOWLZ BITCHEZ" doesn't distract us from the fact the Arizona beat ASU without completing a pass in the second half last year, and wait... yep we still own the series record. FiddySicks
Why did I ever get into this argument? This is dumb, so I'm just gonna stop now. ORIGINAL POINT BEING, before the weird "which s****y school is better" argument kicked off (My bad for taking the bait on that one). ASU's new "military" themed set is lame, and pandering to the nth degree. I say that and it's my school. I don't like it. Haha it always enticing to argue with rivals, but we can agree on those uniforms. Not as bad as some others they've rolled out, but I think lame sums it up nicely. WSU151
We've had some intense ASU-UofA banter over the years on this board. It's an underrated rivalry. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Tillman was the captain of a Sun Devils team that went to a Rose Bowl, was PAC 10 Defensive Player of the Year, then famously walked away from a multi million dollar NFL contract to fight in the war. And ASU will never let us forget it. I can get behind Tillman's own personal choice but there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of slain military personnel who have played college football. Army, Navy and Air Force do field football teams, but you rarely see them going to the lengths of the ASU Tillman thing. If anyone has ever seen the Clint Eastwood film, "Flags of Our Fathers," you get a sense of what true heroes are vs what the media manufactures as herodom. Pretty sure Tillman didn't join up in hopes that one day his name would be all over ASU merchandise. Now, can we please get back to uniform talk? 5th in NAT. TITLES | 2nd in CONF. This is why Penn State should wear blue on Saturday. BTW, Penn State tried to get the Ohio State uniforms denied, due to the argument that the greys were too close to each other and they couldn't see the numbers.
