UNR is more over-aggressiveness, and generally related to play action. Thanks -- they also explained that after the break. Seems weird though. UNR might be over-aggressiveness, but I kind of like the "yellow card" aspect of the new policy. Though, in that vein, UNR is more a soccer foul than a yellow. So who knows. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

How is a personal foul different from unnecessary roughness? If my memory is sound, you can only have two "Unsportsmanlike" penalties before you're kicked out. You can have as many "Personal Foul" or "Unnecessary Roughness" calls as you want to pick up in a game. Generally, the "Unsportsmanlike" calls are dead-ball calls or called where you're doing something that's so egregious during the play.

DG_ThenNowForever
When the Seahawks play well they look like world beaters. I haven't watched any Falcons games this year, but I know Seattle plays well on the road in the playoffs (except when they spot Carolina 35 points). Next week will be interesting for sure. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Cosmic
The Oakland Raiders possibly wiped from existence and the Seahawks advance (edit: and over the poor Lions, too). Great start to the weekend.

Derek Carr has 7 wins vs. teams that finished with a winning record. And he's done it in only 3 years compared to Stafford's 8.

As for the Raiders, once Carr got hurt, it was a forgone conclusion that Oakland was done. That was one of my easier picks to make. While I don't think the Texans are as bad of a team as people make them out to be, they did benefit greatly from an under performing Colts team and a improved Titans team that isn't quite there yet. Seattle's played pretty lousy on the road this season. I think the Seahawks will be a tough out, but this isn't the same Super Bowl teams we've seen recently from Seattle. FiddySicks
I feel like I've said this the past five years at least, but this is an absolutely AWFUL weekend of playoff football. Derek Carr has 7 wins vs. teams that finished with a winning record. And he's done it in only 3 years compared to Stafford's 8. Neither of you are Lions fans and don't watch him every week, so let me set this straight for you: Stafford was the only reason the Lions made the playoffs at all this season. I'm not a huge Stafford slappy either (his inconsistent play was so frustrating until midway last season), but people forget that he's only 28 because he's been in the league for so long and it took him longer to mature than most because of it (believe it or not, Derek Carr is only 3 years younger than Stafford) He's only played one season with anything resembling a legitimate defense behind him and has never had a running game. This season's Lions roster had a talent equivalent of the Rams or Jaguars, yet they were still in a position to WIN THE DIVISION in Week 17. Yet people love to throw out stats like the one above, as if he's playing with the 90s Cowboys and acting like he's never beaten a winning team with them. He's had only 2 head coaches in his career: Jim Schwartz and Jim Caldwell. For example, if you watched ANY of the game last night, you can't tell me that Stafford's play was in the top 10 reasons why the Lions lost (from the dropped passes, not being able stop the run, stupid penalties, questionable-to-awful officiating, coaching, injuries, etc...). You can make a case that the Bears had better skill position players than the Lions this year. It's a classic example of quarterbacks getting too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose.

Well, if you had also told us that the Raiders were going to be down to a rookie 3rd-string quarterback making his first career start, the Lions on the road in Seattle, and the Texans with a home playoff game, then that would be pretty easy to believe. Now if Houston goes on the road next week and win, then we can start the "would you have believed me if I told you..." stuff. But for right now, they are still an average-at-best team that "won" the worst division in football and had an extremely fortuitous playoff draw. FinsUp1214
Yeah, I'm not into the whole Stafford bashing. If anything, I freaking respect the guy considering he had no one picking up the load all year, and outside of Megatron, there was no one else to shoulder that duo's load either in years past. Stafford single-handedly drug Detroit to the playoffs by their feet, and the dip in play he had was pretty obviously related to the fact he played with a bad throwing-hand middle finger that only a splint could straighten out. I give him both a pass and applause here.
