Chiefs cut Jeremy Maclin?  Two seasons after Andy Reid wanted him so badly that they tampered to get him?  I hope there's some way the Eagles can fit him in.

If they had a better quarterback, it wouldn't be such a big problem.

Colin Kaepernik does not have a job because he is a piss poor QB.

This is not about Kap being "blackballed" because of his "sitting" stance with the National Anthem.

This is Kap requesting being played up to 9 million dollars and a starting job. Unfortunately for him, his "regress" as a starting QB is not worth the headaches the media circus would be surrounding whichever team decides to sign him.

He's not starting this league; not even for a team like Cleveland or the Jets.

Kap is not being blackballed for his stance with the National Anthem. He's being blackballed because he's a horrible QB who thinks he should be a team's starting QB.

In all honesty; he should've stayed in San Francisco. While he regressed badly over the past few seasons, it shouldn't have been that hard for him to win that teams' starting QB job going into this coming season.

He's better than Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden, all of whom are current NFL QB's. Don't give me that excuse.

The year Kaepernick went to the Super Bowl he looked like the greatest QB of all time. Well, maybe that's hyperbolic, but he was a terror and he looked like he was going to be awesome forever. Michael Vick and RGIII also looked like that, so the lesson is that :censored: happens.

I do wish him well. He would have been awesome in Seattle and it's a bummer that didn't happen. Has he been ruled out of Oakland yet?

I think it would be wise to put Kaepernick behind a QB a few years away from retirement. Maybe behind Brees in New Orleans or Palmer in Arizona. Let him learn. Or if he's really hell bent on starting, he'd have a better chance up north.

I too agree that Kaep isn't necessarily starting QB material for all teams, he has to improve in certain areas, but he's certainly good enough to start for a handful and be backup for the majority of teams. I would love it if Kaep were the backup on the Cowboys. He's much better than Kellen Moore.

Raiders have Carr, Connor Cook and your boy, EJ Manuel under contract.

The Niners would've cut him either way though.

Exactly. The only reason he saw the field last season was because he restructured his contract to eliminate the $14M injury settlement the team was responsible for. The team was afraid of him being injured last year and not medically cleared by April of this year, thus stuck with the $14M salary.

This is an awful take. Look at these stats and tell me why no one would at least want to give him a backup job:

Kap would be signed if he wasn't requesting 9 million dollars. Who's going to pay 9 million dollars to a guy to hold a clipboard?

Tony Romo (before his release/retirement) notwithstanding.
