Well, this come as no surprise, Brad Keselowski resigned with Team Penske with a multi year contract. They also resigned Paul Wolfe as his crew chief.

And one day later, ESPN reports Ryan Blaney will move to Penske in 2018:

EDIT: Penske makes announcement on Twitter, Blaney will drive the #12:

Moments later, Paul Menard has been announced to replace Blaney in the #21 Wood Brothers Ford.

Menard might be the "one year stop-gap", because I feel like someone like Bubba will drive the #21 in 2019.

Paul Menard brings Menards to Wood Brothers, who has ties to Penske, who has IndyCar ties to Menards.

So that opens up the 27, which RCR said they'd fill at a later date. Could mean Ty's run in the 13 could be over, could mean they bring in a free agent like Kenseth. Interested to see where this goes.

Not really a fan of the move. Why take away something that had so much momentum going for it? I thought the Wood Brothers had finally found their mainstay.

Now we'll probably have to look at neon yellow ruin the classic look of the 21.

Kinda violates the 4 team limit doesn't it?

I'm surprised NASCAR hasn't stepped in and put the kibosh on that. This reeks of an active act of sabotage, when JGR's satellite team is outperforming the main teams. It seems all they needed was the excuse.

Not necessarily. All it is is a lot of teams have manufacturer alliances with bigger teams to help out with mechanical and technical support among other things. It crosses boundaries when said mothership teams hand out penalties and suspensions to satellite teams without NASCAR interfering.

Especially when his own guy started it by going into there pit box. Suspend all or none.

What? He suspended the guy who started it by sarcastically clapping at Adam Stevens, and the one who got in Stevens face.

Unless you watched some other video

I agreed with you up until that last part.

Furniture Row gets not only their equipment from JGR, but "rents" their put crews from JGR as well. Technically, they're still JGR employees. Pit Crew members aren't like your drivers, crew chiefs, etc. A lot of them pull double- or even triple-duty pitting cars and trucks all weekend.

Personally, I don't see a problem with it. They're still JGR employees, even if they're jumping over the wall with a 77 or 78 on their helmet. FRR's owner even said he's OK with it, so I don't see why it's an issue.

In other news, Target announced today it will not sponsor Kyle Larson in the #42 after 2018. Target ended its relationship with CGR's IndyCar team following the 2016 season. This will bring a 28-year partnership to an end as well as the most valuable sponsorship as of Sonoma of this year, the first time in several years anyone has surpassed Lowe's and the #48 team.

However, all is not lost for CGR and Kyle Larson, as a sponsorship announcement is expected in the coming weeks:

What will happen to Cadillac in 2019 may likely occur to Chevrolet (Malibu and Impala)the same year, or soon after. Be reminded they already sold off Opel/Vauxhall in March, so one less platform is needed.

Quote

DETROIT (Reuters) - The head of General Motors Co's (GM.N) Cadillac luxury division said on Thursday the brand will shrink its lineup of sedans and expand its offerings of sport utility vehicles and hybrid and electric vehicles in response to market shifts.

However, in the United States, now the brand's second largest market behind China, Cadillac sales are down 1.6 percent and combined sales of the brand's four sedan models have plummeted 16.3 percent through the first half of the year.

Cadillac will not directly replace the current XTS, CTS or ATS sedans when they end their life cycles in 2019, he said. Instead, Cadillac will use a single new car called the CT5 to appeal to consumers shopping for sedans priced between $35,000 and $45,000. New versions of the CT6 sedan will be offered to customers who want a larger car starting at $50,000.

The CT5 will be built at a factory near Lansing, Michigan, that currently builds the slow-selling Cadillac ATS and CTS models. A small luxury sedan to compete with the Audi A3 will be built in the same plant, de Nysschen said.

Results from Pocono:

1. Kyle Busch

2. Harvick

3. Truex Jr.

4. Hamlin

5. Keselowski

6. Bowyer

7. Suarez

8. Jones

9. Kenseth

10. Elilott

Stage 1 winner: Kyle Busch

Stage 2 winner: Bowyer

Kyle Busch finally gets a win & marks off Pocono off his list. There was just some good racing all around here at the tricky triangle. One minute it looked like Truex would win it, then it was Harvick, then it was Rowdy. A really good day for the rookies today as well. This was Suarez's third straight top 10. All in all, a good day for JGR.

Next up, Watkins Glen
