I can't imagine them investing time to redesign only for them to ultimately decide to recolor the throwbacks. It may be a prototype. Even on the classic royal blue jerseys, the blue and orange bleed together too much and it looks messy. IMO, the best part about them promoting the orange jersey to Home status was how good the thick blue stripes look, so ditching that for this frankenstein striping is clueless. I really hope this isn't the final look as it makes no sense from an aesthetic standpoint. Then again, it's not like I expected a genius organization like the Oilers to get things right. The bad news for the NHL is that people who are in the market for counterfeits absolutely will not care about that detail. I would think that the measure is less about stopping people from buying counterfeits and more about helping to identify people selling them. If the oilers leak is real, I wonder if it's the fanatics replica, that could account for any discrepancies between it and what was teased on Twitter. I disagree. A giant white ring will make the NFL toilet seat collars look like amateur hour. I didn't like the previous orange jersey necks, but the thick white collars and white piping in the possible new jersey pic make me cringe.
