Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

I'd say the Oilers are probably are the team that most clearly has better roads than homes.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

A solid new look for the McDavid era; both the home and road are beautiful.

My only issue is that the road will look a little similar to the Sabres road, but it's just a minor nitpick.

Eh, it's alright; I still prefer the old gapped numbers though, to be honest. Really that about sums up my opinion about the Oilers' new set: "Fine, but not better than the old one."

Haha... my first thought was that this is pretty much exactly what I want the Sabres to look like.

Was the white "outline" on the crest always so huge? That's the only thing that bugs me.

Arm numbers are fat, back numbers are skinnier. Compare the boxes in the 9.

The back numbers appear to be the same shape as the middle layer of a 3 colour number, similar to the Canadiens' homes. The arms look like a new font, but I'm not positive.

The Oilers set looks great overall.  Adjusting the orange uniform to the dynasty striping was a good move in spite of the orange and navy touching.  As for the navy, it looks good enough.  Let the Islanders be the Royal and Orange team while the Oilers usher in a new era under McDavid.

Interesting point about the Devils being considered "O7".  Ironic since they're the 3rd incarnation of a franchise.

They certainly present themselves on ice like I'd imagine an O7 club would, but I'm not sure if the franchise is really in that class, despite all the success.

What other clubs would be "O7", at least from a visual perspective?  I don't think the term literally means O6+1, leaving room for more.

I can't think of any non O6 teams that haven't had major changes to their identities (even if they reverted back) except for the Flyers.  Even when they switched to black, they were still orange and black with the same logo they've always used, and they weathered the Edge storm with only a minor dent to their image.

Every other franchise has had either a significant logo change, full color changes, radical uniform redesigns, or are a relatively young franchise.

I'd say that the leafs had a bigger hit to their identity than the flyers did during the edge takeover.

And the devils, like the leafs, will know what they did wrong and fix it.
