Bruins in their black socks look like a minor hockey team dressing like the Bruins. I'm pretty sure I've played against a team called the Lumberjacks with that exact uniform. Bring back the yellow!

Their fans and the majority of posters on here disagree.

I'm not saying the look is bad; Lord knows it's better that what they wore for the past decade. I'm saying that the new look is juuuuuust different enough from their classic one to create a sort of uncanny valley effect for me.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Just the road?

Me I like the simplified outline stripes. The new jerseys are a nice modernized evolution of their classic jerseys. I'm not sure how that would work because simpler is usually better nowadays.

Just the road.  The color hierarchy of the team is Burgundy > Silver > Blue.  I don't like how the roads just outline the burgundy with silver and only feature blue on the collar and logos.  It looks unfinished and the silver barely contrasts with the white.  Give the road this treatment and the set is perfect.

The City National Arena (Vegas Golden Knights' practice arena) are going to open their own pro shop soon, and it looks like they will also be selling the practice jersey too... I'm assumed that will apply to every team if anyone wanted to purchase a practice jersey.

Interesting, they will have a red inside the collar and a chrome NHL shield on the front...

Interesting. Don't think there are many people in the market more NHL practice jerseys.

Yeah. The Bruins socks aren't awful, but not great either. I was expecting the road ones to look better but I feel like they're worse. The black outlined in gold matched the shoulder yokes which helped balance the uniform. Sure they match the hem/arms out but meh.

I know the yellow socks are traditional but if we look at those uniforms in a vacuum, the striping does match much better, so its not really a downgrade. I really do think dropping the black outline on the numbers was a massive improvement though.

The problem started with the 1995 redesign and their emphasis on black over gold. The traditional Bruins stripes are yellow/black/white/black/yellow. The home jerseys execute this perfectly, the roads haven't.

The gold socks from 1969-1995 matched the stripes of the jersey.

The gold socks from 1995 onward flipped the colors to again, emphasize black, and lost the continuity with the jerseys.

Like you said, in a vacuum this is a pretty decent look - but it's not the Bruins.

I was actually half expecting them the go back to those gold socks, and maybe extend the hem stripe all the way down with some of the rumors that were about before the release.

When the first Edge switch over happened and we were all blown away with how well the Bruins handled the redesign, the one thing I remember thinking was the mostly black striping on the gold socks didn't match. They were just coming off wearing the 70s Vintage set which had the white stripe. The explanation at the time was to balance out the black of the uniform. I quickly got used to it and never really thought twice about it.

I don't know if emphasizing gold again would work. To me it looks too old school. Some minor or junior teams did it for a bit and I didn't really ever feel it would work for the b's.

I'd actually buy one, I like the design of this set of practice jerseys.

I own a CCM Blackhawks practice jersey, but I don't wear it as often as I did when I first bought it.

I own a couple that I actually wear to play hockey in (novel concept), but wouldn't imagine wearing them in any other place or situation.

Traverse City prospects tournament has some of the teams showing off new looks

Ignore the blue helmets. I have a feeling a lot of you won't like the new sock stripes here for the Blue Jackets, but they please my need for consistency so I'm on board.

I'm watching Devils vs. Bruins prospects game on nhl.com right now and each team looks clean and professional. I don't get the whining about either team. It was weird that the Bruins had mismatching socks for 50 years. Now they look normal.

You might be in the wrong place.
