I hope Adidas didn't eliminate tie-down collars.

I think that's honestly the thing I'm most worried about. I absolutely love tie-down collars.

Plus, the Canadiens just finally perfected thier set by going back to the tie-downs, the one thing that was missing. It'd be a shame if those went out the door again.

It would be the same thing but with a white background. Not much point, really.

That, and the fact that the majority of jersey sales are the darks.

It's a fine establishment but it's sorta odd that the official hotel is Downtown when the arena is on the south end of the Strip within a stones throw of so many hotels.

I imagine it's part of the NHL's continued fine line dance with casinos and gambling.

Thunder Bay Lynx - International Hockey Association (2 seasons, 2017-18, 2019-20, 2018 Xtreme Cup Champions)Houston Armadillos - Major League Hockey (2 seasons, 2016-18) | Minnesota Muskies - North American Basketball Association (1 season, 2017-2018) | Louisville Thoroughbreds - United League of Baseball (1 season, 2017, 2017 United Cup Champions) | Las Vegas Thunderbirds - International Basketball League (1 season, 2016-17, 2017 Champions)

Who cares if the orca is a little bit corporate? The Mighty Ducks mask was clearly corporate and people still love it. Many want it back even if it clearly evokes Disney.

And so what if the orca is not literally a "canuck"? Is the Bruins logo a bear? Is the Canadiens logo a canadian man? Is Columbus' logo a Blue Jacket? Even the Predators logo is not a "predator" per se. It’s a symbol with cultural ties with the city or region. Just like the orca is a C with cultural ties to the Pacific Northwest (orcas, ice, Haida art).

It’s also much simpler than Johnny Canuck. That logo is nice, but way too cartoony to be a primary crest. It was fine for the Penguins to have a cartoony logo in 1967, but in 2017 it’s too minor-leaguish. Tweak the orca and get rid of the script above, and it’s a great identity I think.

I'm not advocating for Johnny to be the main logo, but the problem with the Orca (aside from how poorly designed it is), is not that it isn't a literal depiction of a Canuck, but that it misrepresents the team name. It would be like if the New Orleans Saints changed their logo to a Gator coiled in the shape of an 'S', or if the San Francisco Giants changed their logo to a seal. It's just completely arbitrary and out of place. Yes it's a west coast animal, but it really only works as a tertiary logo.

From the jersey image teaser for the Canucks, I don't think it is possible to tell if the script was there or not, though I'm sure it will be as there are not predicted to be any changes for Vancouver.

Here's the old WHL (not the junior league, the old western pro league) with Johnny Canuck on the front. And  jersey front numbers . Personally, I don't care for Johnny like this. He needs a background shape or shield to bound the logo, like the triangle behind the skating penguin.

Something like this?

Just because the Canucks have changed their uniforms and logos a few too many times already, that should not be the reason to stick with the Orca.  Johnny Canuck is not perfect, but is a much better logo than the Orca.

This.  The reason the Canucks have had such an identity crisis is because they've been unable to commit to a look.  The current configuration is actually the first time a jersey set of theirs will pass a ten year anniversary untouched.  The colours are great, the Orca is solid, the striping honors their history and the arched script has become their thing.

Do people actually like the "Free Willy" logo? I much prefer the stick in rink logo but the original one, I have no idea why they slanted it in the update. Dumb.

Love the Orca. And the concept above would make a perfect alt.

Straighten out the sleeve stripes and add a green outline on the numbers and that doesn't look half bad.

I agree, the Canucks have changed looks and identities so many times that it's kind of refreshing to see them stick to a look. Just add green to the logo, and maybe simplify/modernize it a little, and you have a brand the Canucks can stick with.

The logo doesn't need green just like the Blackhawk's striping doesn't need all the colours on its crest.  Every concept of the Orca I've seen with green incorporated has looked terrible IMO.  If the Canucks left their uniforms unchanged for another ten years, they might finally be able to shed their inconsistent reputation.  If they go with something new at this point they'll have it forever.  They'll be people on here clamoring for a return to the 2011 cup-run uniforms with the same fervor as those who pine for the Bure era set.

Anyone other than me think these aren't actually teasers for possible new looks on teams and they're just using what teams currently have for a graphic?

Minnesota's teaser refutes this.

So teams can't have custom name and number fonts?

No this is just an example, I think I read somewhere that every single team has its own font to make it harder for counterfeiters, including the ones that use block fonts there are small differences between them.
