Most uniform sets of one team worn by a player

I was thinking which would be the most uniform sets that one player wore with one team over his time playing with them, I can think of three baseball guys who wore four, Harold Baines and Carlton Fisk with the White Sox were there for the disco flap uniforms that lasted until 1981, the Wining Ugly uniforms, the cursive c cap look and the modern black and white look and Tim Salmon with the Angels who had a late call up in 1992 in the last year of their classic look, the CA uniforms from 1993-96, the pinstripe winged uniforms from 1997-2001 and their modern look

When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought of Harold Baines.  Good call on Carlton Fisk, too.

I think that Tony Gwynn and also Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell are contenders, as well.

I'll also suggest Reggie Jackson with the A's.  He, like many of his teammates from the late 1960s / early 1970s (Hunter, Bando, Fingers, Campaneris) wore all the styles from the late Kansas City period through to the classic mid-70s style.  But then Reggie went back in 1987 and wore the current style.

Shane Doan is the only NHLer that quickly comes to mind... The man played in the last set of the Winnipeg Jets, the Kachina pattern Coyotes, The boring Coyotes, The boring-

edge coyotes, (And edge alt.) and the current sweaters....

One. One time.

There's easily over 10 variants on fanatics alone, and that's just the jerseys in recent memory not counting the uniform style they wore when he first got drafted, or christmas jerseys or pride jerseys or whatever else the NBA makes players parade around in. It's literally a joke

Teemu Selanne with Anaheim?  I guess it's technically five sets (and the difference in one set is merely a shoulder patch), but 15 total different jerseys!

1996 Road (w/o Shoulder logos)

1996 "Wild Wing"

1997-2001 & 2005-06 Home (w/shoulder logos)

1997-2001 & 2005-06 Road (w/shoulder logos)

1997-1999 Jade Alternate

2005-06 Black Alternate

2006-07 New Ducks Home

2006-07 New Ducks Road

2007-2014 Ducks Edge Home

To be on the same page with this discussion, we'd need to define what constitutes a new or different set, and that's going to be subjective, in some cases.  For example, the Reds had a white outline around the lettering on their road jerseys in 1969 but not in 1970 and 1971.  Other than that, the uniforms were the same those three years.  I'm not sure about 1968.

If we consider those two Reds sets as different, Pete Rose wore these with the team:

nl_1966_cincinnati_01.gifnl_1967_cincinnati_01.gifnl_1969_cincinnati_01.gif

nl_1968_cincinnati_01.gifnl_1972_cincinnati_01.gifnl_1988_cincinnati_01.gif

Other teams that come to mind as possibly having candidates would be the Padres of the early 1970s through the early 1990s and the Pirates 1976-85, when they had the 3,748 combinations (1977-84), along with the year right before that started (1976) and the year right after it ended (1985).

This was true in the Heat days as well, with their championship alternates and throwbacks and Spanish jerseys and that nickname night...

But the NBA has very few teams that don't muddle their identity with a stupid t-shirt jersey or unnecessary color at this point. I'm sure some journeyman has LeBron beat by a mile.

If we're counting strictly primary sets, Mike Modano has enough to beat Selanne

Minnesota North Stars w/black pants 1989-91

Minnesota North Stars black jerseys 1991-93

Dallas Stars inaugural jerseys 1993-94 (no "Dallas" in logo)

Dallas Stars Black and Kelly 2.0 1995-99 ("Dallas" in logo)

Star Print Cup jerseys 1999-07

First Edge set 2007-2011

"Dallas" white jersey 2008-11

He was around long enough to see the Stars go from not having "Dallas" on their logo, to seeing it be the only part of their logo.

Mario Lemieux was around for a bunch too.

Penguins Yellow home jersey (1984 preseason)

Diagonal sleeve stripes (1984-86)

Straight sleeve stripes (1986-88)

Numbers moved to sleeves (1988-92)

"PITTSBURGH" (1992-97)

Robo Pen (1997-2000)

Vegas gold (2000-2006)

LeBron James? Since he entered the NBA I'm pretty sure the Cavaliers have changed their uniform 50 times.

That's the first name that came to mind for me.  When you get into Christmas, sleeveless, alts and the two different styles worn in his two stints, it's a pretty healthy number.

We had a similar thread a while back but the players were not limited to one team.  So I wanna say LeBron's Heat stay put him at about 50.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Seems like there's two different conversations here. Would it be easier to specify that it's for one team, primary home/road jerseys? We're trying to look at the evolution of a team's primary look using one player.

We will be here all week if we it's all Cavs jerseys LeBron has worn throughout his career.

I think we're counting main sets, which puts him at five, because the shoulder patch most definitely counts.

First stint primary road [gorgeous, miss this one, would still work with new colors IMO]:

First stint primary home [great set, the use of navy perhaps is questionable, but worked better than it does now]:

First stint alternate [favorite all time jersey]:

First stint throwbacks:

First stint CavFanatics [not sure why the first one exists... 80s/90s blue with 70s wine/gold?]:

Second stint primary road:

Second stint primary home [probably our best looking jersey given color balance]:

Second stint alternates (I believe they stopped using the CavFanatic term for unnecessary alts but I could be wrong):

As far as I know this is all of the Cavs sets he's worn. For Xmas in his first stint it used to be a patch rather than a special jersey. And so far they haven't used any new throwbacks since his return. This doesn't include the black/periwinkle/orange Cavfanatics or slightly different navy Cavfanatics they wore while he was away.

If anyone wants to do this with all his ridiculous Heat jerseys, that'd also be fun to see.

That's 18 jerseys by the way (11 of which have been worn in the last 3 seasons). 19 different sets if you include that one game where he wore the wrong shorts. Please state if I missed one. The Cavs have never done a Spanish night or special St. Patrick's Day uniforms or recognized the military... yet.
