The 3 best teams in the NL are in the West at the moment. Who had the Giants not being one of them entering the season. The team appears hungover from choking the division and the playoffs away last year.

Honestly, being 20 games ahead of the Giants is almost more rewarding than being 20 games above .500. You guys have just beaten the hell out of us for years! It feels REALLY good to have the Rox playing great ball this late in the season.

I've got several friends from the Denver area, and I've kinda gained a neutral stance towards the Rockies. I want to see you guys or the Diamondbacks (so Paul Goldschmidt can get the MVP recognition he deserves) keep the Dodgers away from the NL West title. The return of Rocktober would be fantastic.

Yeah I'd be cool with the Rockies or even D Backs winning that division if it meant the Dodgers were left out in the cold.

Amazing game between The Red Sox & Astros tonight.

A playoff series against these two have the makings of a classic series.

Also, Red Sox Finally move into a 1st place tie with The Yankees!

Red Sox: 8    Celtics: 17    Bruins: 6    Patriots: 5

It's June, I wouldn't exactly call this late

When your team has been terrible for a decade, and continually collapses in early May, this feels pretty late in the season for us Rockies fans to be feeling good about things.

dsaline beat me to it, but yeah when your team has been hopeless for almost the entirety of its history and starts hot every year June 19 is late. That Nolan bomb was awesome. Denver has always been a tender box waiting for the Rockies to show any spark and this years team is definitely doing that.

At this point, I don't see how Cody Bellinger doesn't hit 40+ home runs this year. Just ship him the ROY award already!

Both leagues' ROY awards are pretty much foregone conclusions at this point. Judge or Bellinger would need to have a downturn of epic proportions to lose those ROY awards.

I'd guess this is probably the first time that both leagues are led in HRs by rookies this late in the year. If you told me at the start of the year that Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, Logan Morrison (who will likely eclipse his career-high in HRs by the end of June), and Eric Thames would be the top 4 in HRs in baseball on June 20th.. well, Suzyn, you can't predict baseball... you just can't!

Don't forget Justin Smoak and Yonder Alonso setting the world on fire.

My god...how did the Giants get 20 below .500?

What happened was a gestalt of a complacent front office, an infield that regressed on offense, an aging/barely-capable outfield that can't hit or field, pitching that is all over the place, and a lack of a solid farm system. They may have been a good team on paper, but glaring issues from the past few years weren't fixed and things simply haven't aligned properly for the team.

All because this trash bullpen and especially Tyler Clippard are a dumpster fire. If he and this bullpen were actually serviceable it would have been a successful west coast road trip. And we would have found a way to win tonight. Just pray that in September the AL East doesn't be decided on this losing streak Yankees fans.
