2017 MLB Season

So, I hate to say this, but the Dodgers are winning the God damn World Series this season. They've basically been Corvettes racing a bunch of Neons in terms of payroll anyway, but they're FINALLY looking like a cohesive unit and have drafted like the MFin 90s Yankees. I hate this stupid team and even I find myself impressed by just how good they are and actually kinda wanna watch them play.

The Dodgers around 2012 were a total ass joke because they thought they could strong arm their way to titles using nothing but sweet sweet cash. But, unlike a bunch of other idiot teams with money, they've learned their lesson and have built one of the very best top-to-bottom systems I've ever seen. I'm about as big of a certified Dodgers hater there is, but even I have to say if they win the World Series this year (which they will), they'll have earned it.

This is like DG's "A good Lakers team makes the whole NBA better" idea. I think that a "Good" Dodgers team probably really does make the whole league better off (PUKE).

Sigh, I saw this coming from a mile away, but, who didn't?

And....weirdly....I'm all of a sudden interested in the MLB season :)

FWIW, I put the Dodgers on the same level as the Giants, except LA has better uniforms.

Honestly, if they weren't the God damn Dodgers, I'd probably love them. They have great uniforms, the most iconic park on the west coast, a truly robust, romantic history (which puts the Giants own very solid history to shame in some aspects), and one helluva team. That's really hard to not at least appreciate. And my own team's very existence is tied perpetually to the Dodgers decision to move west. if not for them moving west with the Giants, my favorite team would probably be, like, the Oakland Sea Lions or whoever ended up out here and we'd have the boring ass NL Minneapolis Millers. The rivalry isn't just lengthy, it's absolutely codependent.

But :censored: them because they're the God damn Dodgers.

I've been watching a lot of the Dodgers lately. That is a fun team for the moment. The World Series we should get is Dodgers-Astros, but I'm fully prepared to see somebody else because the baseball playoffs are silly.

Same here! I really like how they've been able to get their crap together as a franchise, and bring back the "Dodger Way" of old. I hate them, but at the same time I can appreciate it and thank them for talking Horace Stoneham out of moving the Giants to Minnesota, keeping the most competitive/entertaining rivalry in baseball alive (1238-1207 in favor of the Giants, dating back to the nineteenth century).

Those :censored: in' Angels. Albert Pujols breaks an 0-for-24 skid with two homers, then the Angels allow 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th including the second walk-off grand slam given up by Bud Norris this week.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeee-zuss

Thank you, by the way. That was the craziest thing I've seen in a while. Steve Pearce hit two walk off grand slams in the span of what, four games?

It's a nice gesture, even if it's a bit overdone.  I think everybody's ready to turn the page.

Hopefully this is the end of the whole saga.

You could argue that giving him a ring makes no sense, but that guy endured ALOT in an incident that brought out the worst of sports fandom and (assuming the 30 for 30 is accurate) he was the class of the entire mess.  His life was turned upside down.  Therefore, I don't begrudge this one bit, even if picking a fan to give a ring to is a bit odd.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Seriously? ANOTHER story about him? What a disappointment. He's arguably one of the best players to ever play baseball and all he's going to be remembered for is the controversy that he's created.

As a Dodgers fan, I just can never trust this team. It doesn't matter how good they do in the regular season, they always seem to mess up in the playoffs. I'm already expecting the Cubs or Nationals to be representing the NL.
