So apparently Marc-Andre Fleury made a sacrifice to the hockey gods: one last Cup run with Pittsburgh in exchange for Vegas/Expansion Draft?

Why would he, or anyone else, want to play for the Golden Knights? And I say that as someone who likes Vegas as a place to vacation.

It's not even me :censored: ing on "non-traditional" markets. The team is run by a "hands on" owner who seems to think his team is part of the US Army. I wouldn't want to play for that guy. I don't even care how many "BUT VEGAS, BAYYYBEEE"s you throw at me. I don't care how annoying it is to be recognised at the Loblaws in downtown Toronto. That's got to be to better than playing for a guy who jerks off to idea of a hockey team being ARMY STRONG!

Dang, crabcake is all but waving the white flag.

I don't think you can blame him, given the history between these teams. I get being positive until the very end, but we've now reached "I'll be happy if they surprise me" levels for Caps fans. You're kidding yourself if you honestly believe the Pens are losing this series at this point.

^ That was awful ^

They’re totally gonna stack the chips in favor of that piece of :censored: Vegas team (Including giving them basically unheard of access to players during the upcoming expansion draft) and they’re gonna end up being like the god damn 2010s Kings two years in.

I never bought the "IT'S A WHOLE NEW SERIES WITH CROSBY OUT" narrative. No hockey team is this good off of the back of just one player. Not even the best player in the world. The Pens are too deep, even with all of their injuries, to be slowed down any significant amount. MAF was the question mark, but he made some huge saves tonight. Maybe the demotion was what he needed to get his head in order? I don't know, but this team looks unstoppable at the moment.

Aside from goalies, your best player doesn't even play half the game.  Your most important forwards will play about 22-23 minutes max, your key defensemen about 25-28 minutes.

If anything, when your best player is out, the rest to the roster tends to focus on the details more since their best player can't pick up the slack.

I'm tired of Milan Lucic being on the Oilers.

I, uh, take that back.

I never bought it either. They'd be a playoff team if he didn't exist at all.

Ill say this about Fluery - he's been really good in the playoffs. I can't help but wonder if playing backup minutes during the regular season has him rested, fresh and healthy for this run.

As for the Bonino phantom high stick call at just the right time for you guys - hmm.

I dont know what the Capitals are supposed to do differently. You outshot them by a big margin again and it doesn't matter. I'd keep doing what they're doing because either the ridiculous shooting and save percentages of the penguins will law of averagely fall off a cliff or they'll just stay where they are because they are the Cardinals Devil Magic of hockey and there's nothing the caps can do about that anyways.

The Penguins have 2 elite playoff goalies in their rotation as well as an all-star first line.

How do they squeeze in everyone during the cap era?

*NBC burns down*

Are they contractually obligated to show the end of the series on NBC? I think NBCSN might burn down instead.

Yes.

And the great part about that?  American viewers won't know what channel to tune in to see Games 3 and 4 until after the end of Game 2.  NBC will definitely have Game 1 and Games 5-7.  NBC-SN will have Game 2.  If the series is tied at 1, NBC has Game 3 and NBC-SN Game 4.  If the series is 2-0, NBC-SN has Game 3 and NBC Game 4.

If the NHL still wants to Grow The Game, the next step should be having all of the games for the Stanley Cup Final on basic TV.

Most of them are signed to team-first contracts.  MAF is only making 5.7, and next year Murray goes from 575k up to 3.7.  This may be a surprise to some but the highest salary cap hit is actually from Malkin.

What a farce.  Neither of the Ducks goals to tie this game should have counted.

What, one ticky-tack goalie interference (which I would have personally called, but I can see not calling it) and a micro-offside? I'm as big an Oilers fan as anyone but I wouldn't go putting this tie game on the refs.

I thought for sure the first goal would come back. I've seen that same goal called back plenty of times.

I have no idea what you're taking about on that second one.

Oh, and this new third one? Pure beast by Getzlaf. He came alive in mid-March and has finally played like their best player. Getzlaf has been awesome.

Here. We. Go.

Can someone tell the Oilers that hockey games are 60 minutes long? Because not once in these playoffs have they played a full 60.
