Time for the first big change in the series, and of course, it had to be for the Tampa Bay Rays.

I think the Rays might be changing their look within 3 years. But it may not be as radical as mine, or they may go for a completely different direction.

Anyway, I decided to bring back the green as main colour, keeping the light blue as secondary. I also decided to change the scripts and logos.

Make their road uniform sky blue shirt and pants like back in the day! :D

Hmm... not sure. I think I like it better without the outline, but both work fine.

I'm torn. The 97-99 Astros were the inspiration for this idea. That one had an outline...and this outline kinda unifies the workmark and the sunburst...but the non-outline one might look better. ?

Couple things since the last reply from me

I think if you went to green it'd be worth doing a new script all together. I think the Green, sky blue, and yellow don't really go well together since they're all fighting to be the most important color. That, and the 01-07 entire set is pretty ugly in my opinion. Also the burst with an outline doesn't really work for what it's depicting, which is just a lens flare essentially

also always save in PNG, it'll do wonders for quality

I wanted to keep blue as a secondary colour for the home alt ;) Also, I don't think in 2020 the teams will be using non-grey road uniforms. But, how about making the home alt all-blue?

About the wordmarks, this turned out more complicated than what I initially thought... Here's a test: the original wordmark compared to the 2001/07 designs:

Which one do you think is better?

Middle one for sure, but how would the ray of light look in yellow?

I tried it and ditched the idea. The uniform look unbalanced.

I decided to try my last idea:

What do you think? Honestly, I would go for this, instead of using an old wordmark.

Stick with it. There's only so much polishing you can do on the old wordmarks. If you can find a way to make the "ray" work on the "Tampa Bay" script, do that too.

I really like your new scripts, as they call to mind a more "timeless" aesthetic than the early-mid 2000's wordmarks.
