On Wisconsin!

Indiana is likely to be the second hardest opponent Wisconsin faces before the B1G title game.  Their schedule is beyond clownfraudulent.

I hope you're right. I'd like to think Michigan could at least test that defense but I don't see how they can without Speight.

Outside of Grant Perry, Michigan's WRs are too inexperienced and are unlikely to get open. Speight was partially the problem, but Pep Hamilton ain't helping.

The Sun Devils have finally turned it on and have looked GREAT in their last two games. It looks like it's probably just in time to save Todd Graham's job too. I never thought i'd say this, but if they get two more wins (one has to be over those clowns from Tucson) and become bowl eligible, I think I'm ok with that.

If anyone wasn't sure Notre Dame was for real, pretty sire they've shown they're ready. Now to see if they finish 11-1 and ruin a couple conference champions days by making the playoffs.

About the only way a Pac-12 team makes the playoffs is for Washington and Washington State to win out, and whomever wins the Apple Cup wins the conference.  But neither one played an out-of-conference slate worth a crap.  So we can basically eliminate the Pac-12.

The next two conferences in trouble are the Big XII and the ACC.  I'm not sold on Miami and TCU finishing undefeated before their conference championship games.

And, should Georgia go 12-0 and lose a close game to Alabama in the SEC Championship, I don't see how an 11-1 Notre Dame gets in while a 12-1 Georgia, which won at Notre Dame this season, doesn't.

But one loss conference champions get in all the time. The Pac-12 seems to be the odd one out this year, but the Big 12 and ACC seem to be in good shape. I don't see Notre Dame getting in over a one-loss Big 12 Champ Oklahoma, or a one-loss ACC champ Clemson. Same goes for potential one-loss Georgia.

Going to call my shot now, but Penn State is going to lose next weekend. Penn State looked great last night, but I think that has more to do with Michigan being overrated. Plus, this is the team that probably should've lost at Iowa as well. Ohio State also seems to have improved (especially in the passing game) since the Oklahoma debacle.

Right, but 2016 showed that you don't have to be a conference champion to be able to get inclusion into the playoffs.

Get the four best teams, no matter what their end-of-season distinction is.

The cartel isn't going to let 2 SEC teams in unless there are fewer than 3 1 or 0 loss teams in the other 4 P5 Conferences.  Bank on it.

This is especially true in a year when there may be only 2 SEC teams that aren't absolute garbage.

I think there's a decent chance a 12-1 Georgia makes the playoff if Notre Dame runs the table to finish 11-1, but less so if ND ends up 10-2 or worse. You could be left with a situation where you're choosing between ND, TCU and Georgia (for example) for two spots, and ND's resume would be better than TCU's, which is better than Georgia's, but UGA beat ND. I would be very intrigued to see how the committee would handle that. UGA's existence as a potential 12-1, non-SEC champion is the only thing that keeps me from feeling supremely confident about an 11-1 Notre Dame being a playoff lock.

Also, if Alabama loses the SEC title game, they will not have a particularly strong resume -- their best possible win would be a 10-2 Texas A&M, but it seems more realistic their best wins will turn out to be 9-3 and 8-4 fellow SEC West teams that aren't going to be ranked in the top 15. It would be very neat to see Alabama's scheduling habits come back to hurt them.

The 2017 Florida State Seminoles have officially tuned out Jumbo Fisher.

It's really been lovely to see.  Florida State needs to beat Clemson just to get to six wins this season, which ain't happening.  Granted, they could get waiver into a bowl game but that's assuming they beat Syracuse and Florida, but that doesn't seem all that likely at this point.

Not necessarily. Don't be shocked if there are a few more games "bought" for either Dec. 2 (conference championship Saturday) or/and Dec. 9 (Army/Navy wknd.) to get teams who lost a game due to Hurricane Hank or Irma bowl eligible.

The UCF/USF loser may try to get an additional data point just in case the winner subsequently loses in the American title game.

Now, granted FSU is down this year, but with 3 straight conference wins (and actually scoring points for once!) Boston College seems to be turning a leaf as a program. Granted this is more of a low floor than a high ceiling type deal, but I'm confident bowl eligibility is an unexpected but welcome step in the right direction for the Guys Being Dudes.

Spaziani is also coaching for a new AD, who was hired in June. Jarmond came from Ohio State and Michigan State before that. He would likely love to bring in someone he's very familiar with or even bring Greg Shiano back east.
