And seeing as how Tennessee scored twice pretty easily in overtime, it's a pretty safe assumption that GT was done on defense. If you got a one-play chance to win the game on offense, it's a good gamble to put all your chips in on. Especially when they've had issues with the kicking game all night long, as you said. Tennessee allowed well over 600 yards on defense, with like 530 of that on rushing alone...and still found a way to win the game. That's got to be a bigger "rabbit out of the hat" than that Hail Mary play against Georgia last year. 1 hour ago, crashcarson15 said: Nah, going for two was absolutely the right decision; Tech gets three yards on a majority of their plays -- their whole offense is built around getting four yards on every down. The actual play call was the wrong decision. Good observations... It is what it is.

Starting with the next OT period you are forced to go for 2. Plenty of teams in GT's situation go for 2 in that situation with that very thing in mind. The actual play call was the wrong decision. The play call wasn't even bad, in my opinion. If he pitches that ball instead of keeping it and cutting towards the goalline, the RB probably scores. The WR blocking on the edge had outside leverage on his man.

FFS! http://thebiglead.com/2017/09/08/texas-am-fans-angry-kevin-sumlins-wife-went-public-with-racist-letter/ Quote She released that knowing it reflects poorly on A&m. How does it help your husband or the team? Thats a low blow. Lets ignore for a moment where or whom created the letter. She knows how it would look. So please explain to me why were accepting of that going out to the world ? Thats unacceptable.
stumpygremlin
I didn't get to watch this game, but FIU needed a 4th-quarter drive in the penultimate minute to beat Alcorn State 17-10. I get that they had Irma on their mind and had to travel for what should've been a home game. Even so... yikes. It's gonna be a long year for Butch Davis and co. Red Wolf
Georgia Southern lost to New Hampshire today. So Georgia Southern is now worse as an FBS than they were as an FCS.
dfwabel
Auburn's defense was screwed by the offensive genius Gus Malzhan, his new OC Chip Lindsey and QB Jarrett Stidham. Auburn had 1st&10 at the CLE 45 and dude took three sacks (10 overall). 42 rushes...38 yards*. *Sacks count as rush attempts/yards.
