StaatsBrett
After a long hiatus I'm back with a newish stadium That I modified to fit both football and baseball it's for a fictional university me and one of my friends are doing. http://i.imgur.com/4gh4ZhB.png http://i.imgur.com/DmN6VqA.png http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/103365-star-based-championship-signatures-by-request/
Michael Bolton
Looks to me like Levi's Stadium and pre-renovated Sun Life Stadium had a baby. Does it have a retractable roof?
StaatsBrett
Yeah there's a roof it's just off for photos http://i.imgur.com/4gh4ZhB.png http://i.imgur.com/DmN6VqA.png http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/103365-star-based-championship-signatures-by-request/

raysox
I think the retractable roof one is very very good. Loved doing sketchup stadiums and this one turned out well. That being said, there's a reason they phased out stadiums like the second one @MichaelDanger19 | Dribbble
SEA75
Hey StaatsBrett, is the Kingdome model yours or did you edit someone else's? I've seen something similar on SketchUp before.
slapshot
Just looking at these now...the renderings are great, but incorrect. Your football field is 10 yards short. You have the 10 yard line indicator starting at the 5 yard line in both ends. So you need to add another 10 yards (30 feet) to the length of the field. Bases are 90 feet apart, which is exactly 30 yards. So if you have the goal line starting at the first base foul line, the 30 yard line will run right through second and third base. SEA75
About what I said earlier, I asked about the model because it looks like StaatsBrett derived his model from my own Kingdome model. I go by SEA747 on SketchUp's 3D Warehouse, and that model looks similar to my second revision of the Kingdome. I voice my concern now since I'm currently doing a third revision of it, and one image posted by him happened to show up while I was searching for references to the press box. I'll explain the similarities/changes here: The roof was kept the same, including the flagpole on top. The "waves" on the exterior of the Kingdome look to have been duplicated and recolored. From my understanding, those are actually supposed to be access ramps, so I'm redoing them for the third revision. The grey boxes on the exterior was kept as well, with the opening on the third deck and between the concrete support columns being filled. The fields have been recolored, and the seating configuration for each sport was kept. Baseball field was recolored to look more like a regular one, with the Seattle Mariners logo removed on the backstop. American football field was removed of any Seattle Seahawks references. The helmet was kept and reworked with a Devil horn replacing the 1976-2001 Seahawks logo. The endzones were replaced; they are grey with either "Mexico" or "Devils" in red instead of blue with the 1976-2001 Seahawks wordmark in white. The grey area was actually blue with the NFL and AFC logos along with the aforementioned wordmark in my attempt to replicate the look at the final game (MIA vs. SEA, 1999-2000 NFL Wild Card Game) at the Kingdome. The baseball interior looks the same, except for the weird third deck and replaced texturing. The U.S. and Canada flags near the scoreboard are the same, along with the flood lights on the roof. Now, I normally don't mind people editing my work as long as they give me credit when they upload their revisions. However, the one thing that troubles me is the first post; I've also seen similar work with that model originally being a multipurpose stadium by Caleb B. on the 3D Warehouse. To be honest, the explanation there is just unclear for me, so I want to discuss with him to clear any misunderstandings. I was going to include pictures, but there seems to be a problem with the uploader now, so I included links to both models involved. (EDIT: Photos of my Kingdome model added.) At least you're honest about your mistake, and I appreciate that. If you want, I can send you an altered version of my third Kingdome revision when its done. Just please remember to credit me if you release it. The thing is that I've worked on that stadium on-and-off for about five years, so I'd rather not see people claim credit for my hard work over those years. It literally took me hours of looking at photos and diagrams just to get the approximate dimensions right, and that was also before I learned to use the Intersect tool properly, so creating the seats was a painful process. 30 minutes ago, StaatsBrett said: The third deck is blocked off like thr new atl stadium Well, I think it would be better to hang the curtains off the lights like Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium or just put tarps over the third deck like the M's for most of their Kingdome years and the A's at the Oakland Coliseum. The altered version's not likely going to include one; I was thinking more of having a full third deck with that version, not cut out in a circle like in the actual Kingdome, so I guess more like the Metrodome, Sun Life Stadium, pre-2011 BC Place, or pre-2011 Louisiana Superdome. SEA75
I'm thinking of a horseshoe layout, where there would be one main scoreboard on the open end. CenturyLink Field, Qualcomm Stadium, Gillette Stadium, etc.
