I fully expect the A's to land Las Vegas as that city is building a new ballpark with vastly improved player facilities. Nashville is next and I expect them to go with the Rangers. With the Rangers leaving Round Rock, the Astros will land there. The Brewers will stick with San Antonio, leaving poor old Washington stuck with Fresno.

Sounds good to me

Excellent!

That would be a very dumb move for the A’s. Nashville was dumb, too. They need to find a way to get Reno and leave Vegas to the D backs.

I don’t ever see the DBacks And Aces breaking up. I have heard the Diamondbacks want to keep Reno because of the link they have to the Phoenix Firebirds. I personally don’t wanna see it happen either

That's right! Firebirds moved to Tucson and then to Reno. I still have an old Firebirds hat. One my favorite minor league logos being a Giants fan and all.

The Baby Cakes will definitely be missed. ?

That team name will NOT be missed.  After that name was announced, an (unscientific) response poll was done; 91% of respondents were opposed to the name. From my experience living here, that's about correct.

Put the Southern League double a club in New Orleans they can stay the Baby Cakes. Wichita can be part of the same farm system and be the Daddy Cakes..

Hell, no. That stupid idiotic made-up name needs to be gone YESTERDAY.

The main thing is to get away from any involvement with Schwechheimer, who says he wants to be involved in bringing in a AA team to replace the AAA franchise. That guy ruined the AAA franchise here so he could move them on to greener pastures. The Board of Commissioners of the Louisiana Sports and Exposition District (colloquially referred to as "The Superdome Commission") has jurisdictional authority over the baseball stadium and will be to entity to do this.

It is what it is.

Milwaukee gets San Antonio.

Of course, from a travel standpoint it would make the most sense for the Nats to get Nashville and the Rangers to get Fresno.  Alas, sense has never been the deciding factor in these things.

When did you hear that this is confirmed?

It doesn't make the most geographical sense, but I love how the Diamondbacks are, in a roundabout way, honoring the franchise lineage of the Aces as their predecessor by doing this.

Does not surprise me as the AAA Missions franchise (formerly the Colorado Springs Skysox) was already the Brewers' AAA affiliate.

(Sorry for the consecutive post.)

Im actually surprised.  I figured that with all of the preseason games the Rangers played in San Antonio, that Texas would step in as the affiliate for the Missions.  I guess maybe the skepticism of the ballpark situation in SanAn might have pushed the Rangers away for now.

They and the Astros seem to be fighting over Round Rock.

The Rangers were already in Round Rock....and Round Rock stated recently they were free agents.

Reid Ryan is a VP for the Astros and the Ryan family owns the Express. That might be enough of a push to have the Astros go there.

For me "Baby Cakes" represented a step too far for Brandiose, their flying too close to the sun moment where they learned that "no, you can't just do whatever you want." And whether it's the identity that did them in or something else, I'm glad that name is going to be a relic.

I walked by the Fresno ballpark back in April.  It's in a lovely neighborhood of pawn shops, a casino, and urban blight.

The Mediterranean restaurant/brewery was excellent though so there's that.
