Ok.

Was this really necessary?

As far back as I remember the Freep has always had it's look.

It was in my eyes iconic.

It's one of those thing they did not need to mess with never mind changing it to the same generic look.

Gannett has made a similar banner  change to the digital versions of The Tennessean in Nashville, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and AzCentral, digital home of The (Phoenix) Arizona Republic to the "USA Today" font.
