The bottom two are more burgundy than maroon. EA's TeamBuilder isn't necessarily gospel, but they use a burgundy shade for ASU also.

Honestly? It's kind of a negligible difference, at best, even for us.

But if we're really going to split hairs on this issue, I can tell you from living for three years directly on the Tempe Campus and having to stare daily at that particular shade of red, the color is maroon.

I said this in the main college football uniform thread, but it doesn't hurt to repeat it here. Penn State/Pitt was easily my favorite matchup of the week:

Pitt's new road throwbacks looked tremendous, especially against the Nittany Lions' classic home uniforms. There were definitely some other games that looked pretty good, but none of them quite compared to this one IMO.

I think it's been shown on here that color names are sometimes useless in sports. As I recall, Ohio State and Wisconsin use(d) the same shade of red, but OSU called it scarlet while Wisconsin called it cardinal.

You must be mistaken. This is the University of Montana. The Apple Cup is between WSU and UW. Colors are similar tho. Apple Cup will be played November 25

Similarly, Nebraska and Kansas use the same shade of red I believe, but Nebraska calls it scarlet, while Kansas calls it crimson..

Also, South Carolina's "garnet" helmets and Alabama's "crimson" helmets are the EXACT same color

Much like last week's UNC game, it could have been improved with a change in pants. Louisville in red pants would have really elevated that game aesthetically.

I like that Notre Dame-Georgia was between two traditional looks, but I don't much care for Georgia's uniforms, especially their road jerseys. I've generally thought the road jersey should essentially be a white jersey made to have as much of a team's main color as possible, and it's always bothered me that UGA used black numbers on the road. I also don't care for their helmet as much as most people. And I'm not sure I'd like a different helmet any better since they've had that same basic look for so long that changing it would feel wrong.

Here's a look at the ASU/SDSU game.

Texas USC gets top spot this week. Looked great in the '06 Rose Bowl, looks great now.

2nd goes to Colorado State/Alabama because I really, really like the way these colors look against each other.

3rd goes to Ole Miss/Cal, if Ole Miss wore gray pants this game is in contention for the top spot, still a solid matchup nonetheless with the whites.

Of course I'm biased as a Texas fan, but UT-USC was easily best of the week for me. And I'm not even a traditionalist.

I'm not one bit of a USC fan but their uniforms are gorgeous. The colors are perfect for southern California and they are easily one of the best looks in college football.
