I missed the 10-1 shellacking of the Pens, but I'm enjoying this Columbus game. The Hawks look fast, crisp and physical. That 3rd goal will read as Toews, assisted by Saad, but  that was a great hit by Panik that made it happen.

When it counts in a crucial playoff game, it's always a different story for some reason.

We don't talk about that right now it's the regular season meaning it's the Caps time to shine... you can talk about that starting in April/May

Highlights of the game include Brandon Saad imposing his will on everyone he encountered (but not Artemi Panarin, because Panarin ascended to a higher plane of existence and stopped playing hockey) and Crawford quietly putting up 32/33 on the night. Lowlights included what felt disturbingly like Eddie Olczyk saying goodbye and some monkey in the WGN production truck cuing up a promo instead of the out-of-town scoreboard so that a voice yelled "MITCH TRUBISKY!!!" over the game. I'm trying to avoid the Bears, come on.

Schmaltz will stay home for the Hawks' road trip.

I think this has been brought up on this board before, but the biggest problem with “Pittsburgh” sports fans — and it propagates best through “Penguins” fans — are the people who don’t actually live there, and in a lot of cases, have no reason to be Pittsburgh sports fans @McCarthy

yeah this is 100% a load of crap. there's no right or wrong reason to like any team. root for whoever you want, sports are supposed to be fun. root for a team that makes you happy

Just don't be a tool and rub it in everyone's face...

No, Crash is right. I worked at Nationwide Arena for two years and have seen every team plus the Thrashers play there. The worst people I've ever had to deal with both as an employee and just as a person are Penguins fans, most of them from Ohio and, buddy, it's not even close. It's as empirical as I can get.

I've been to a game in Pittsburgh and the people were friendlier, like they have less to prove or something because they're not on the road.

Yeah, you hear the same thing about Hawks fans on the road, but you hear most of it from the delicate hothouse flowers in Nashville, so who cares

I'm sure you met some true Super Yinzers when the Pens came to town. :(

Hawks-Leafs should be a good one tonight for your Canadian Thanksgiving. Ulf Samuelsson has had the Hawks trying to stand guys up at the red line rather than just the blue line, so they'll either shut Matthews and Marner down hard tonight or get lit up like the Griswold house. Either way, I'm looking forward it so much that I moved my lap swim to an ungodly 6 in the morning to make sure I don't miss it!

The Blackhawks fans in Columbus have always been friendly and well-behaved. No complaints from me.

You're only saying this because I bought you beer.
