Some nice posts from inside Marlins Park at games with the roof open:

They've had it open for more games than all of last season- 6. Too bad the team sucks and crowds are at record lows.

Another city would support them. Florida shouldn't have either team.

Yea Florida sucks at baseball support hell the dolphins and canes hardly bring in the crowds now days. I think they should have thought out of the box more with this stadium. Skydome type roof all white though and retracting over home plate. Then having beach seats (similar to San Diego grass hill) starting at the top of the fence all in the outfield with different bars and pools throughout. Bullpens under the beach seats. Everything in the sun when roof is open and everything inside when it’s closed but you get the same Miami, Florida, beach vibe no matter what. The stadium has bright colors but is doesn’t portray Miami IMO

I don't know of another city that would have supported the prior ownership or the current ownership.

The Canes had huge crowds last year, especially when they were in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The angle of the script, which has been discussed a lot, is the only weird thing about these jerseys. But the script is a billion times better than the W, especially when the sleeve patch on all the jerseys is a W in a roundel.

Just like the marlins and rays fans...Fair weather Ever since they moved into hard rock. I’m in Houston and it’s similar with everything but football. Astros were really bad expo bad when they were rebuilding.

I’m cool with the script but I wish it didn’t look so crooked and I HATE HATE AYCHE EH TEE EEE the fact that the script and number colors are reversed. That looks AWFUL. That works some times for some teams, but NOT in this case.

Yeah the number almost literally "throws" everything off... it either looks like the number was already there and the wordmark fell onto it and got bumped off to the side or the wordmark was there and the number came up from below and knocked the wordmark off balance. There's a weird out of place motion that I keep seeing. Or like a see saw with the heavy kid on the left side.

I'm making an assumption here -

Based on this, coaches will be wearing white hats too, just like in '68.

This Week's Topic

Should the Marlins have an alternative uniform option with a sleeveless jersey?

Yes

No

Unsure

Marlins with an interesting poll this week... should they have a vest alternate jersey? It's interesting considering how few vests are still in baseball yet also considering the Marlins have a wonderful "vest history." I think it's tough to answer too because "it depends" could be a real choice. If it's something classic and timeless like the '97 vests then yea I'm all for it but if it's something useless like the Rockies black vests with black undershirts then I'd rather not have it. A lot of these uniform poll questions are tough to answer without knowing more information. But still thought it was worth bringing up here that a team might bring a vest back into MLB.

The better question is should the marlins just scrap the hideous mess they wear now and return to the classic set with alternate teal hats and the answer is hell yes. I don’t get these Florida teams,

the dolphins, Marlins, Jaguars, buccaneers, lightning and panthers all got it right the first time.
