Because they shared the stadium with the marlins duh

What sense would that make though? You have dirt all over the field but choose to put astroturf in place of dirt somewhere in one spot on a grass field...

The Pitt Panthers played at Forbes Field from its opening year until Pitt Stadium was built in 1925.

The Steelers played there exclusively from 1933-58, then split time between Forbes Field and Pitt Stadium until 1963, then moved to Pitt Stadium full time until Three Rivers opened in 1970.

Can Anybody Find pictures of Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans hosting baseball. According to the Wikipedia article, it did in the 50s and 60s

Found one in the old Times-Picayune files.

This photo, though, was from 1971, well after the Pelicans had left after their two-year stint there  in1958-59 season.   According to an article from Crescent City Sports, while the Superdome was under construction, the Superdome Commission was assertive in generating interest by Major League Baseball by hosting the league’s winter meeting in New Orleans and sponsoring major-league exhibition games in the city, even before the Superdome’s construction was finished.  Tad Gormley Stadium and Kirsch-Rooney Park were used as sites for exhibition games between major-league teams going north following the end of spring training. New Orleans wanted to prove it was a genuine baseball town.

Not sure which teams are playing baseball in this shot, but it gives you an idea of how it was set up.
