NCAA Football Super Series

NCAA FBS football is thoroughly exciting both on TV and in person due to both the level of competition and the atmosphere with the crazy student's sections and the marching band among other traditions. I'm such a huge fan that I'm going to all of Western Michigan's home games this year (GO BRONCOS!!!). For this project, I'm creating another level of competition above the FCS and FBS, the FSS or Football Super Series comprised of 104 (fictional) colleges and universities just a bit bigger and better than the FBS. Each school will get uniforms and this neat little 8-bit matchup mockup (I love old-school video games) to show what combinations they'll be wearing throughout the season. For the names, I created a spreadsheet with all of the states and territories, and all of the names already taken (U of, State, Tech, A&M, Northern, etc.), and filled in the blanks. So, without further ado, here are the conferences:

We're going to start things out in the Super 12 which is similar in a lot of ways with the SEC. The first school were the 2016 National Champions. The University of Nashville Brigadiers get their name from Francis Nash, the revolutionary war hero (and brigadier general) for whom the city is named.

I'm loving this so far! Both logos look great, both teams have a great color balance, and the uniforms look sharp!  Just a question, will you be putting major brand logos on the uniforms? For example, Nike, UA, Adidas, etc. Great job so far though!

After a long and drawn out legal battle between the NCAA, Nike, Riddel, UnderArmour, and Adidas, the NCAA announced in 2015 than starting in the 2017 season, all Super Series uniforms will be made by JCR, a relatively new brand on the market.

Hahaha, nice story. Thanks for the info and keep it up!

Up next in the Super 12 are the Huntsville Cherokees. During the 1980s, the team was met with criticism for having a Native American name, but instead of changing it, they went a step further and offered free tuition and sporting event tickets to anyone of Native descent which created a huge fanbase that accepted the school's branding. Furthermore, rather than use an offensive stereotypical cartoon mascot, the team used a more appropriate logo.

Up next from the Super 12 is the University of Louisiana. Although in real life, UL-Monroe and UL-Lafayette exist and compete, neither has the exclusive rights to the name of the University of Louisiana. The Kings get their nickname and colors from King Louis XIV, for whom the state was named. They have a very classic southern look.

Very interesting thread! I'm right now designing a similar league for italian universities so I'm glad other people are tackling college sports. Nashville logo is so cool! Mr. Nash would have been proud of your portrait ;)

Cool beans, another alternate CFB reality!  I'll have to follow this one, too.  I love that you put the time into making uniform schedules.

My only issue, really, is with Huntsville's logo.  No, it has nothing to do with PC.  Few schools put their nickname in their logo, so could we see a revised version that says "Huntsville"?

I also like the occasional color-on-color you've got going.

EDIT:  How come Arkansas has no teams? :(

I just had a thought:  I'm from Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  Our local university, U of Arkansas-Fort Smith, plays Division 2 sports, but no football.  If you didn't already have the teams lined up, I'd ask for a UAFS concept.  Here's our logo:

Our colors are navy blue and white.

Ok, this series is cool. Uniforms flawless. But I do have to question Olathe over the Wichita area. We miss D-I football!!!

Although Wichita is a good area, I've never seen anything in Olathe, and figured it would be cool.

Up next are the Montgomery University Foxes.
