The annoying thing here is, no one seems to be hurt to see them go. Granted, not having a winning season since 2008 makes it easy to see them off for most people here in San Antonio. They are even some portions of the citizenry that seem to be happy about the possible move of Columbus to Austin because for some dumb reason they think that we can get NFL football or MLB here, and they don't want MLS because it's "not real football".

They better keep the nickname the Stars. There's history with the name in the city and it just fits. Just swap silver for gold and you've got a winner.

I saw a soccer mockup for a team named the Lights. i think that'd work just as well. It's a new city, might as well change it up a bit.

We're probably getting stuck with a casino property for the team's name, much like the Connecticut Sun.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Please don't take this the wrong way as I mean no offence, but do people actually care about and watch the WNBA?

It's the only basketball I'll even watch. Don't like the NBA, no to NCAA (unlesss it's Washington), just don't like it, but I'll catch a WNBA game if it's on.

Seconded.

I haven't watched an NBA game in years. I love the WNBA.

Unlike this year's NBA finals, the Lynx/Sparks matchup was amazing to watch.

I'll watch the Finals or the All-Star Game, but other than that -- meh. I don't care to follow it closer than that.

Previously The MGM Grand Garden Arena and the T-Mobile Arena were muted as potential new homes, with both losing out to Mandalay Bay

MGM owns all three venues, so it is not really losing out, but rather Mandalay Bay is the smallest capacity of the three so it is the best capacity.  Heck, The Orleans Arena would likely be the best option in the city.
