The Celtics with Kyrie and Heyward would have beat the 2018 Cavs. I don't have many doubts about that.

That's what keeps getting overlooked here.  The Celtics were a win from the Finals WHILE GOING MOST OF THE YEAR WITHOUT THEIR TOP TWO PLAYERS.

Not sure how the hell they’re gonna pull it off, but something is telling me that when the dust settles, Lebron is going back to Miami.

The Heat are already over the salary cap. I think the only scenario that enables LeBron-to-Miami is Cleveland cooperating with a sign and trade.

I spent all of last season thinking that the Heat were a fun enough team that could have really gone places if only [one of the greatest players of all time] decided to stick around ?. As it stands, the Heat are a collection of nice role players that could perhaps help LeBron win 2 games against the Warriors, so I doubt he is coming back. It seems that the more realistic scenario is that the front office realizes this team is going absolutely nowhere while Whiteside eats up 20% of the salary cap to do nothing (someone PLEASE trade for him!), so they just give D-Wade as much money as they can for 2 years to make up what he's done for the franchise until Whiteside is off the books.

The idea of the Banana Boat getting together in L.A. isn't unrealistic. LeBron, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade are all free agents, and Carmelo is a Thunder buyout away from being one as well (perhaps they'd do it if George left). Obviously, it has nowhere near the appeal it once did, but I would really like seeing Melo and Paul finally making the Finals.

You forgot the most important thing...

Nobody wants Hassan Whiteside's attitude or his $52M due over the next two seasons.

Tyler Johnson's contract increases greatly this year and next as well. He'll go from $6M this past year to $19M in each of the next two.

Dion Waiters is basically the only tradable contract and he's hurt.

LeBron is opting out of his contract, which doesn't tell us a whole lot since he could still resign with Cleveland.  I think it makes Houston a lot less likely, though.

Houston's out. Boston too. The only way they could have aquires James was through sign and trade. Now that option is unavailable.

Melo didn't opt out, so replace him with Paul George and Chris Paul with Kawhi Leonard who is mentally and physically healthy and LA is much better than the banana boat crew. They'll still be stuck with Lavar Ball though.

PG staying in OKC.

Good for him, I guess. It'll be fun to win 45 games in the west the rest of his career instead of the east.

Pretty sure Lebron James is just gonna sign the same style deal with Cleveland that KD just did with the Warriors and we’re gonna go through this all again next night year. Honestly at this point I don’t see anything that makes more sense than that. None of these options are all that good.

Paul George is officially "Country Mouse".

Palmdale->Fresno->Indianapolis->OKC

For his next move he would pretty much have to get an animal husbandry degree from Texas A&M to keep up the same kinda trajectory.

CP3 back to Houston on a 4 year max.

:censored:. This off season is gonna end up being a HUGE letdown, isn’t it?

Sam Presti, your clock is ticking and you haven't done much in two seasons but add the PG and 'Melo salaries plus sign Adams to an eight figure salary.

He had no choice with Melo. Had they lost him this would have been an incredible off-season for OKC.

DJ to the Mavs (for real this time?) and, lol, Rudy Gay staying in San Antonio.

Bucfan is probably right, though James would be a fool to stay in Cleveland.
