For the __th time, Cousins is useless and New Orleans sucked before he went down.

I don't disagree that the Pelicans played better basketball without Cousins (27-21 at the time of his injury, 21-13 without him) and that they were able to begin playing a more up-tempo style of offense that was better suited for the team they had. However, Cousins did average 25/13 and was playing at an All-Star level before he went down, hardly a "useless" player. There was no question Cousins took a lot of defensive pressure off of AD and gave them another outside shooter. He may not be the same player he was pre-injury for some time, but there's no way the Pels are going to get that kind of production out of Julius Randle or Mirotic. And I do think it will have an effect on AD's morale because he and Cousins appeared to genuinely enjoy playing with each other.

And DeMarcus Cousins just signed with the Golden State Warriors....

I wonder if he's still worthless.

Lakers finally land their whale and they surround him with JaVale, Rondo and Lance.

The Warriors add one of the highest-upside centers just for fun. Jesus.

So who wins a championship first in the next 4 years? LeBron with the Lakers or his son in the California high school basketball state championships.

Can I choose neither?

So people do remember that Cousins is coming off an Achilles injury right? Athelets almost nobody recovers from that to anywhere near the amount of production they had before the injury, especially big guys. I really would be surprised if he just ends up clogging up the lane like Shaq did with Cleveland and Boston and providing little production.

So, the Warriors just upgraded from JaVale McGee to Demarcus Cousins.

Ok, yup. That’s a good move. Survey says upgrade. Ho hum.

The NBA is starting to quickly have a European soccer feel to it. A few dominant teams at the top (or in this case, one dominant team), three or four who could win occasionally, and a bunch of garbage. I guess if any American sport is going to go that route, it may as well be the one that’s already got the largest global footprint.

I was about to make the same point. The Warriors have become Real Madrid.

I tried to out on a brave face last season, but this year feels especially pointless. I'll still probably get League Pass but I shouldn't.

The 2016 Cavs championship should go down as one of the greatest achievements in pro sports history — LeBron and Kyrie sent the 73-9 Warriors, with the unanimous MVP, to the parking lot crying for help, in the process breaking the entire NBA.

I’m still so damn proud of my guys for that win.

I mean... a no-brainer for Golden State.

It is a potential headache for them, though, considering he's a head case who will have to make some pretty significant changes to his game to fit how the Warriors play on both ends of the court.

You can thank the NBA for that with that dubious suspension of Draymond

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here

He hit the biggest superstar in the league in the nuts.  You have to be insane to believe he didn't deserve a suspension, especially when he got off lightly after the OKC incident.
