This school is basically Phase 2.

In 2015, his foundation and the University of Akron announced tuition free scholarships for 2,300 northeast Ohio kids starting in 2021.

At least that seems like it’ll go better than the last time someone tried this.

NBA signed a partnership with MGM.

http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/24245142/nba-first-league-betting-sponsor-deal-mgm

Quote

On Tuesday, commissioner Adam Silver announced that the league struck a deal with MGM that will give the gaming company rights to use league highlights, names, logos and its direct data feed, as well as exclusively market itself as the official gaming partner of the NBA and WNBA.

Industry sources pegged the deal to be for three years and at least $25 million.

Allowing use of league logos and team names on boards at MGM casinos is a first for a major American sports league. The logos and league highlights will also appear on an MGM sports betting app, which will be available to states that approve online sports betting. As of now, only Nevada offers legal mobile sports betting, but sports betting operators in New Jersey are expected to launch mobile apps at some point in August.

On Monday, MGM and GVC Holdings announced a $100 million joint venture to create an online gaming experience. MGM also formed a partnership with Boyd Gaming on Monday that allows the companies to eventually offer online and mobile sports gambling in states where sports gambling becomes legal and either of the two have physical casinos.

LeBron literally started his own cult. Interesting.

You're seriously equating a school for disadvantaged youth to being a cult?

That's a bad take.

Because a cult is totally going to get people in the door by hanging a sign out front that says "HEY STUPID, COME JOIN MY CULT!"

LeBron just wants to pump a bunch of BLM/socialist dogma into kids' heads and hide behind charity and benevolence while doing it. Classic politics. Give people handouts and flash a winsome smile while delivering a finely crafted marketing speech, and they are yours for the taking.

Because identifying at risk youth and getting them into a school that will hopefully prepare them better than the failing schools they are coming in from is a bad idea. So is helping the community and helping parents improve themselves. You know who else does stuff like this? David Robinson and Jalen Rose. Not to this level but they are helping their communities have smarter, more prepared adults when they graduate high school or possibly even college.

"I Promise School will be getting pupils who have spent their first three or four years in schools Ohio has given an “F” grade for student progress. Those first four years of early development are paramount to a child’s future success. As an oft-cited education adage goes; “before grade three, you’re learning to read. After grade three, you’re reading to learn.” State data suggests Akron’s students as a whole demonstrate below-average literacy skills as K-3 students. This threatens to create lapses in the early stages of of the new school as teachers struggle to accelerate student growth to meet I Promise’s standards." - SB Nation

I'm actually impressed, you managed to top your first bad take with an even worse one.

Look, as a moderator, let me remind you that there’s a no politics policy. So, please kindly direct the conspiracy theories elsewhere.

Thank you.

I think it’s more a case of blatant trolling than a conscious effort to inject politics. There’s no way that take can be real.

Wow. This is an impressively bad take. Probably one of the worst I’ve ever seen on here. Save this garbage for the Facebook comments section please.

It’s nearly a full week out and it’s still a terrible, terrible take. It’s got staying power! That’s hard to do in today’s fast-paced Internet world. Congrats! ???

Sounds like your jimmies are a bit rustled. Nice to know my "takes" have that power.

Not really, it’s just absurd to make that connection that doesn’t exist. It’s like Steven a. Smith or skip bayless. Your commentary about Lebron school to help disadvantaged youth to a cult has no basis of fact but you spout off about it like it’s gospel. We all know it’s ridiculous we are wondering if you truely believe such ludacris allegations.
