Man, the Eastern Conference is an absolute joke. Lebron gets unnecessarily and unfairly knocked for a TON of different things, but it’s really hard to deny that he made this current run during a stretch of historically bad basketball from that conference. The Celtics are absolutely stripped and the Cavs are one player away from a lottery team and still they’re absolutey cruising to the Eastern Conference Finals. That’s pretty telling. Lebron may make another Finals appearance this year but if he’s really going to have the legacy he wants, he’s gotta come and face some actual competition in the playoffs rather than face three glorified D2 college teams. I say this as a fan of Lebron, too.

LeBron's also playing as good as he did when this run started despite playing the functional equivalent of 1-2 more seasons of basketball over that span.  Which is kind of unreal.

Oh absolutely, and I’m not really saying that so much as a knock on Lebron as it is a knock on the rest of the conference.

It almost seems so typical that the 1 team the looked like they could actually beat Lebron, lose their 2 best players at the beginning & end of the season.

Red Sox: 8    Celtics: 17    Bruins: 6    Patriots: 5

Lol, Lebron James, man.

I’m SO looking forward to watching the Warriors kick his ass for a third time.

Just now, Kaz said:

Well there are two teams left, and they both play in the Western Conference

I meant specifically in the East.

Cavs will be crushed by any of the Western Conference Teams.

If this board existed in the 80s, you'd have had said the same thing about Magic/Kareem and the Lakers with their conference.

From 1980-1991, they lost TWO best-of-seven series against Western Conference teams in 12 years.

The NBA might as well stand for National Bron Association.

Honestly, I don't even WANT to see the Warriors kick his butt. I hope someone else does it, or Boston pulls a miracle.

I will not watch 1 second of CLE/GSW IV

People say the NBA is in great shape with all this young talent and these teams..... yet it's SO predictable.

Seriously, WHY should I care about LeBron vs. Golden State part infinity? We've seen that movie before!

Would it kill Toronto to double team LeBron here? Hell, something different... because obviously nothing is working for the Raptors. About the only thing that might work is if someone within the Raptors organization (or say, Drake... because why not) goes out and does a Tonya Harding on LeBron.

The Pels really got screwed in game 2. They made a valiant effort at the end of the first half today, but sometimes no one really can stop the juggernaut.

Rondo was 2/10 today but it seemed like he took most shots in Q1, when he needed to facilitate.  Playoff Rondo is perilous as he'll look for the assist over taking the layup, but today he seemed to force his shots.

BTW, Ian Clark was a hot d@mn mess today too.

Utah flaugin' yet again.

You keep using that word.

*Ahem* Let’s see what urban dictionary says it means:

”Flauging: to act like someone or something you're not (as in drive a car that's not yours)”

Okay. I fail to see where Utah’s “acting like someone they’re not” by losing to the best team in the league. I think even the most die-hard Jazz fans saw this coming. I did. I don’t recall anyone I know saying the Jazz were ever at Houston’s level. Houston’s been doing this to everybody, in case you haven’t noticed. And they’ll probably keep doing it next round and maybe the one after. This is far less about Utah being a fluke and more about the fact that Houston is just that great. Like, really, really, really, really great.

I’m fully aware the Jazz aren’t “there” yet, and that’s fine. Totally fine. They’re farther than I expected them to be. Much farther. As I’ve said, I’ve just enjoyed the heck out of the fact they turned this year around so much and crawled back from losing Hayward. They weren’t supposed to even dream about being this far, and I’ve just been stoked as a fan to go along for the ride. And really, something should be said for a team that turns 19-28 into 48-34 and a second round appearance (yeah I know you already said you “don’t care”, loud and clear, but there’s plenty of others who appreciate that kind of moxie regardless). Just because they ran into Thanos doesn’t mean the year was all-for-naught or that they were a fake or that fans can’t appreciate what happened along the way anyways.

EDIT: Just to assure you, not trying to start a fight or anything. We can agree to disagree. The assumption that the Jazz are acting like someone they aren’t just because they’re losing to Houston just didn’t make any sense to me is all.
