DEAD!
They should go with "York U" since they currently play at.... York U. I saw, I came, I left.

gosioux76
Seems so odd to bail on an identity after just one year, especially when the original brand didn't seem to be all that flawed.
Jer15
Changing their identity a little bit isn't going to fix what their real problems are. (Apparently there's a lot of fighting behind the scenes...very reminiscent of early TFC days). My reaction to this was "meh". I think using the word "united" instead of the number 9 to convey that this club is supposed to represent the 9 towns/cities makes more sense but "whatever". Corvus
I'm just so tired of "United" as a name. Just plain York FC would have been better. Also, I liked the super bright green in the previous colour scheme.
BigRed618
I like the new logo. Everything comes together alright and I barely notice the line weight issues. And in all fairness, this is the first CPL team to call themselves United. We're all just tired of it because of MLS overusing it.

BigRed618
I remember a long time ago making a concept for a team in St. John’s, NL called Terra Nova FC. I still think that could be a cool name for a team up there if it ever happens

If any North American team uses Albion, then we know we have gone too far.

I was really hoping the USL team in New Mexico would go by New Mexico or Albuquerque Wanderers with a hot air balloon motif. https://twitter.com/OutOfThisWC

officeglenn
Also a new name and number font: Block font inspired by the Canadian men's national team that qualified for the World Cup in 1986; horizontal line cutting through represents the 49th parallel. Here's my writeup on the unveiling for the mothership.

Thanks to @officeglenn's writeup for explaining it's wild rose-themed; I think that's a nice inspiration even if it's not obvious. I just don't like the random addition of gold in the collar; it muddies it up. 21 hours ago, steve61 said: Gorgeous! 21 hours ago, officeglenn said: Block font inspired by the Canadian men's national team that qualified for the World Cup in 1986; horizontal line cutting through represents the 49th parallel. The new font is quite nice, and I like the fact that there can be different colored number trim with that drop shadow. Probably more of a lateral move than an upgrade, but the last font was so good that that's not such a bad thing.
