Now I’m hoping for a Fiesta Bowl matchup of Michigan vs UCF 🤞🏻

Somehow I think the committee will line them (UCF) up against LSU or Georgia.

I would’ve only liked to see Michigan because it would be in my backyard. Now UCF if they win again. Would they claim another National Championship?

I don't agree with the committee (I think Ohio State kind of got the shaft there in favor of a team that did not win their conference) but honestly, I'd rather not have a strictly bracketed playoff. I'd rather see something like this:

  • Sugar Bowl: #1 Alabama v #12 Penn State
  • Orange Bowl: #2 Clemson v #5 Georgia
  • Peach Bowl: #3 Notre Dame v #11 LSU
  • Cotton Bowl: #4 Oklahoma v #7 Michigan
  • Rose Bowl: #6 Ohio State v #9 Washington
  • Fiesta Bowl: #8 UCF v #10 Florida

...and then let the top two winners play in the NCG.

How do you determine a top 2 winners from that? You are just opening it up for more problems

We all know what the seedings are. So the top two seeded teams that won their bowl game would go.

What team would you take out? And don’t say ND, they are undefeated facing as difficult a schedule as any other team, if not more. If OSU hadn’t had lost by 21 points to Purdue, and barely beat Maryland, and one other team you might have a point but through out the season they scraped by at some points, compared to ND whose only been challenged once, which is saying something when you look at all the ranked teams the played.

8 team playoff looks like a better option every year. The fact that this is an issue the NCAA takes "for the student-athlete" is ridiculous.

Oh awesome we’re either getting Bama Clemson 3 or another ritual sacrifice of Notre Dame to the Bama gods.

This is is the right move, but I do kind of wish Oklahoma and Notre Dame we’re swapped. That way we’d get a competitive semi final between Oklahoma and Clemson and we could just get Bama murdering Notre Dame out of the way early.

The NCAA has nothing to do with FBS postseason though. If they did they'd play a 16-24 team playoff like they do for all other divisions. Michigan being shut out of NY6 games while Florida and LSU get in is just ridiculous. And I'm not a Michigan fan.

Still the strangest and worst thing about major college football. College football is successful in spite of itself and therefore has no real reason to get better. I kind of wish the colleges with the means and desire to pay the players would just break away already.

That seems a little drastic.

I thought Michigan was playing Florida in a NY6?

I must have seen one of the lists that was put out while they were still announcing. I hope Michigan knocks Florida into May. As much as some Florida fans were calling out UCF I knew they wouldn't get them.

Beyond issuing postseason bans for infractions, it really isn't. The NCAA itself doesn't run the bowls, AP poll, coaches' poll, College Football Playoff, and didn't run the Bowl Alliance, or Bowl Championship Series either. Whereas the NCAA is in charge of the lower division football championship tournaments, March Madness, etc.

Pretty sure the BCS was better than this

Michigan is playing Florida, so that’s an impressive feat the committee managed.
