SportsLogos.Net News Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 MLB Unveils 2018 All-Star Uniforms: Stars, Stripes, and Pinwheels! June 15, 2018 - 14:31 PMAmerica’s Pastime will hold it’s annual Mid-Summer Classic in their capital city next month, a pairing that seems so natural it’s hard to believe it’s the first time Washington has hosted in half-a-century, the last Major League Baseball All-Star Game […] Read More... Cardsblues02 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 One reason I have never really been into MLB’s all star merchandise is because they use one general color for all the teams (example is orange last season) they kind of corrected this so I would be more inclined to buy a Cardinals cap. Looks good!
Bucs007 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Love the pinwheel caps. A great nod to the Expos and definitely the best ASG game cap MLB's done since they swapped the traditional game cap with ASG patch for a ASG-specific design. With that said, the BP caps are terrible.
MJD7 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 These are definitely my favorite ASG caps since the original 2014 caps from Minnesota’s ASG. The only bummer is the AL will not look quite as good in-game with all that white being paired with the away grays. It’s also interesting that each cap has it’s own coloring of the ASG logo patch.
justen Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 whoopsie.... reversed the Marlins logo on the BP HRD cap
OnWis97 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Wow...a not-so-subtle nod to the Expos. I would not have guessed such a thing would happen. The Nats seem to be more like the Thunder than the Dodgers. So in principal, I kinda like it. But I never liked the pinwheel hats and I don't like front panels (which the ASG in Minnesota four years ago helped push along). I guess this is fun for the ASG, though The workout caps are awful 1) because two special caps for the weekend? and 2) because they are. Some team observations: Brewers continue to use both logos. Their BiG looks awful in red. No sure why the Orioles went with "O's" on the workout cap...perhaps because the bird is a bit too detailed for shrinking? On the warm-ups, looks like the Marlins fish is on the wrong side...my guess is this won't play out for the final product. The Astros logo is probably poorest at translating to the white panel. The outline helps the Indians logo...think about it for the primary, Cleveland. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." WSU151 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I think the Nats' Game hat looks the best. A lot of them look goofy. I don't like any of the workout/HRD hats. Can someone help me out with the design on the socks - what am I supposed to be seeing...steps? Does the white backround with red stripes and square shape mean anything? Also...in the AL All Star Game hat image...it looks like the Tigers' D is the smaller size. Weird. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

It just creates a bad mismatch with the gray jerseys. It's the same problem that plagued the late '70s Braves and the '70s/80s Orioles. The AL game caps would be better with a gray front panel to match the gray uniforms.

Just trying to figure out the front side...especially the top of the sock, then the "step" pattern. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

8BW14 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I've never really liked the pinwheel caps to begin with. Feels very bro slow pitch softball league to me and it doesn't work with every logo/color combo. I'd like to see the All Star Game caps just be the teams' regular caps with gold stars around the eyelets. I think maybe they have done that in the past? Go crazy for the Homerun Derby and change that design every year according to the host team if you must. I don't think that's a bad idea really, but I'd like the game caps to be a little more subdued.
BC985 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 The over merchandising of the All-Star Game just comes off as trying too hard. It really is a one city/team event (the host team). I ask the purveyors of this board, does anyone buy ASG merchandise and why do you?
FiddySicks Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 Oh cool, the Giants are going to pair a white front paneled cap with their cream jerseys. Thats’s gonna look AWESOME! On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
Dynasty Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 The Home Run Derby jersey scripts are probably my favorite.
Gothamite Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 The scripts are nice, but the whole exercise is pointless. Somebody must be buying this garbage, but I don’t know who or why. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.

Ray Lankford Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 The Blue Jays hat bugs me. They have a secondary and tertiary color so why is their pinwheel gray?
