CCSLC Board Technical Issues

I wonder what the issue could be.  Gonna try clearing cache on every device.  Just now, I got logged out of desktop, logged in, and was then almost instantly logged out of phone.  Signed back into phone and am now logged on in both places... but I bet I'm now signed out of my laptop.  I get that this makes it sound that I'm connected to this forum 24hrs a day on a lot of devices, but it's not like that (though my posting history might indicate otherwise.)

On another note, notifications started working all of a sudden, after not (ever) working... so that's good.

Seems to have a mind of its own for you

Does anyone know how to change signatures now? I can't find any way to do it

Click on your username in the upper right corner then select Account Settings.  On the next page, in the menu on the left there's an option for Signature.

Anyone having issues with embedded tweets not showing up? I’m on chrome for iPhone and there’s just been a big blank space wherever a tweet should be for the past few days.

When I use the (improved) search feature, if there's multiple pages of search results, sometimes clicking on the next page produces the "you must wait x seconds before running another search", and there's no way to proceed other than waiting and starting the original search again.  Even clicking back doesn't work.

Scrolled back a few pages and didn't see anything on this. Anyone else having issues with tweets showing up in a separate window (within the post) without images loading? If I try to click on the tweet URL the whole tweet just crashes within the window and displays an error message. Also seems like a lot of images in general just don't load for me anymore. Using Microsoft Edge and wondering if that might be part of the problem.

EDIT: Seems like the browser is blocking cookies from twitter. Even when I set it to allow them and refresh, it switches back to blocking them when I try to click the link.

Over the last couple weeks, I've been forced to sign-in every time I enter the forum. I've been selecting the 'remember me' box each time I log in,  but still does not seem to be helping. To note, this is happening on both my mobile and laptop devices.

Is anyone else having these issues?

Is there any way to resolve?

log out of the forum on EVERY device (laptop, phone, tablet, etc) that you use, then clear cache/cookies on all of them, then it should stop. I had the same thing and it was frustrating af because every time I’d use my laptop I’d have to sign again everywhere else, then if I used my phone, I’d have to sign in again on laptop, etc.

edit: I’m convinced the ads on this site put al kinds of nasty crap on your devices - worse than porn sites - and nobody can convince me otherwise. None of these issues have happened since I went ad-free. It works 1000000x better.

I've noticed today that when browsing on desktop, when I click on the last post link (where it says the time that the last person posted) instead of it taking me to that post, it brings me to the first post of the topic, as if I haven't read any posts in that topic.   Anyone else experiencing that?  It doesn't seem to be consistent - I'd say it's doing it 50% of the time.

Yeah, if you hover over the last part of the URL is "?do=getLastComment", somehow the board software is adding two } brackets to the end and that's mucking it up. I took a look on the back end earlier today but I can't figure out where that change would have happened or where to change it back.

If you delete the two } brackets, it should take you to the last post; I realize this is cumbersome and maybe not feasible in the long term, but it's a workaround for the time being.

If the last part of the URL is "?do=getNewComment", that isn't affected.

EDIT: According to this thread on an Invision support forum, it's a bug in their template code, so there's nothing we can do here on our end. But it has been reported internally at Invision and a fix may be included in a future maintenance release.

Thanks for looking into it.  According to this post, the fix was recently made available.

Hey team: Is this fix still in the works?

Thanks in advance. 😁

This is well worth it.
