It’s absolutely rediculous and makes the site completely broken. Telling us to just report it on the button that doesn’t work isn’t the answer we need. We need it fixed. It's worse than porn sites. I'm not sure what's so special about this site that the ads here have to be worse than the ads on literally any other site in the country - including porn. The ad-free option is the only way to go. I've been enjoying it since the day I got it, as it also re-enabled mobile use, which (as has been mentioned) crashes all the time. I know we're all used to getting things for free, but nothing is truly free, and the $7/month is well worth it to me to use the site. It still doesn’t mean those of us who choose not to pay have to experience constant crashing and overbearing ads 24/7. I understand the “pay for better quality” argument, but what’s perplexing the most is the “report it” defense. No one is gonna want to constantly go through that process upwards of 20+ a day. We can report it, sure. It’s likely not gonna fix the problem. I chose to pay, but I understand not wanting to because every other non-porn site in the universe has found the middle ground between charging for memberships and aligning with advertisers that hijack your browser and hold you captive, rendering the site literally unusable. UPDATE: It seems to have resolved itself. Notification emails finally showed up, just significantly delayed. The forum is increasingly becoming more frustrating to use. I don’t like to be harsh, but ”Report the ads” and “just use the ad-free version” responses aren’t cutting it. Agreed, having the same issues even after upgrading my phone, so that isn’t the issue. Most issues that cause crashes are part of the board software and cannot be fixed by any moderator or administrator. We’re beholden to waiting for Invision to push out maintenance updates. It's more than just a pop-up, it takes over the whole window. A recent google search shows it is a phishing scam. I don't get it on any other site I have whitelisted from my ad blocker. I checked out the concepts forum for the first time in a while, and even in recent threads, the images were dead. FinsUp1214 Posted May 19, 2023 Share Posted May 19, 2023 I’ve noticed a few occasions where some images don’t show up for me after about 10 seconds of a page trying to load. It’ll try to load it for a bit, then stop and put the question mark icon over where the image should be instead. I think there’s just so much going on with ads and images on this site that it’s as if it overloads and makes the page sort of “give up.” To be clear, this isn’t a constant issue, but I’ve encountered it a little more lately.
