CR7 to Juventus is OFFICIAL.

Dang, was literally about to start next year’s IF topic on this myself! Beat me to to it ?

Sky is reporting that the fee is £105m.

At least someone else gets to win Champions League next year.

Ronaldo is 33 years old and signed a 4-year deal. I don't expect Ronaldo to still be with Juventus at 37, but who knows. I am very much looking forward to him at LAFC for his next step.

Conte all but out at Chelsea according to multiple reports. I'm not surprised Chelsea took this long to get rid of Conte, but it has to be a little unsettling since he's been running training for over a week now.

The way in which managers are treated by Chelsea is absolutely ridiculous.

More huge transfer news as Jean-Michael Seri, a man linked with clubs like Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea, has instead signed for Fulham.

I hate how worthless the domestic titles seemingly have become.

Winning your league should be a PROUD moment, and not just something that happens and you move on. Or the same team/teams winning it every single year.

I think it depends on the team. For Bayern, PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea the Champions League title is that golden goose they want to possess. But for teams like Dortmund, Marseilles, Arsenal and Liverpool a league championship is still something that would be a pretty big deal. It still would be for Manchester United as well since it's going to be at least six years between Premiership titles. The English teams all probably care more about the EPL title since it pays more than Champions League does now.

The Hammers are also having a decent week in the transfer window. First Jack Wilshere, now Andriy Yarmolenko.

What does it say really when the second-best club in the Bundesliga over the last decade or so is losing players to perpetual middle-tier West Ham, anyway? Don't need to lecture me about Premier League finances, trust me, I'm very well aware, and for that matter I feel Yarmolenko is not someone Dortmund is going to have a great deal of trouble replacing in their set-up. It's the general principle of the matter. I love the Bundesliga and I love Germany; it's probably my favorite league to watch on its own. But the competition there is such :censored: . No one not only fails to have the financial power of Bayern, but they apparently don't even have the financial power to not be a feeder club to the rest of Europe, either. How on earth is anyone ever going to win that league anytime soon?

Because, delusional as I might be, I one day can envision Inter rising up and knocking Juve off their throne in Italy, because Inter finally looks like they've gotten their :censored: together and they have history, money, and an attractive city. Who the hell in Germany can say the same at this point?

Pretty much on point with my post, in a way. Juventus didn't splash over 100M Euro for Ronaldo to win Serie A. They won the Scudetto seven years straight without him. They got him purely to try and win the Champions League. And I don't wish Merda any luck, either. One European Cup without the aid of penalty kicks, way back in 1985. Specialists in failure in that competition and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This is why German fans hate RB Leipzig. They see them as barely working within that 50+1 German model that's supposed to make things even. When Fox got the Bundesliga I started watching because they generally have more free flowing games than England. But after a while it was just like, "Why"? We already know Bayern is going to win because if there's a player that threatens them they'll buy him. When they played Dortmund in the Champions League final and bought the best player before the game even started? That just told me no one messes with Munich.

As for Italy, with Ronaldo going there does Fox or ESPN go all in and buy the league rights? BeIn Sports does some games but they always get bumped for Real Madrid or Barcelona vs whomever they have that week. Even though AC Milan is in hot water at the moment I could see them getting the ship righted since Berlusconi or the Chinese investors are no longer involved. Who buys them next would be key though because the folks holding them now will just fix up the plumbing, put on a new coat of paint and put that house back on the market again.

Maybe for the bigger leagues, especially England with all the tv money that gets thrown around, but for smaller leagues like Belgium winning the domestic league is key since it gives you Champions League football and acces to the money that comes with it. I think the top three clubs here have a smallish budget compared to a mid table premier league side.

It's smallish compared to most Championship teams too.

Probably, especially compared to the former prem teams. I think our transfer record stands at 4 million at the moment. I do like the switch in transfer policy at the moment, focusing more on bringing in more young talent and letting them develop over time until they are ready for a better league.
