If there were some kind of league collusion, the Raiders would be the perfect team to throw under the bus to get rid of Kaepernick. They're already moving, so the Oakland fans are already mad, and the Vegas fans will forget about it by 2020. They should* just sign him and let him ride the pine. A player under contract complaining about playing time is totally different than a guy that can't even get an interview.

*Assuming I'm in the hypothetical spot of an owner trying to cover the league's a-- in this lawsuit. Not my personal way I would deal with it.

Edit: The league did this with Vick and the Eagles; they basically placed him there because they thought it was a good situation for him.

You don't sign a Colin Kaepernick with two weeks remaining in a lost season.  I don't doubt for one second that he's been colluded against, but this particular signing in and of itself is not evidence of it.   It wouldn't make any sense to sign anyone that hasn't played NFL football in 3 seasons just to hold a clipboard for two meaningless games, let alone one that would draw the kind of attention he would.  I kinda think you need to sign him in the preseason (kinda like the Eagles and Mike Vick) or if you're a good team that suffers an injury and really needs a decent backup QB.

That players can drink but not smoke weed is insane.

Totally.  I'm not a weed guy, and don't necessarily love that it's legal pretty much everywhere, but jesus unless you're playing while high, it's dumb for a league to police it.  Test for performance-enhancing drugs that might be... well, artificially enhancing performance - and let the actual law police the other stuff however it sees fit.

It has been pointed out that Gordon was on a reinstatement agreement which involves mandatory counseling, etc... so he could easily violate his agreement without actually testing positive.

That said, Gordon was self-medicating with marijuana, Xanax, and codeine since middle school.  Later, he switched to alcohol, purple drank, hydrocodone, and oxycodone.

Dear God it's a wonder the man's still alive.

I really, truly hope he gets the help he needs. But with all the resources at his disposal for years now, this might just be who he is.

I have this feeling Foles is leading the Eagles back to the playoffs. They upset Houston and throttle Washington to end the season while the Bears knockout out the Vikings in week 17. Eagles get the 6th seed.

ooops................The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

AFC

1. Chiefs

2. Patriots

3. Texans

4. Steelers

5. Chargers

6. Ravens

NFC

1. Saints

2. Rams

3. Bears

4. Cowboys

5. Seahawks

6. Eagles

The SBCPE are actually favored in this game.

I don't think it's a shocker that owners are actively avoiding Kaepernick, but choosing to sign arguably the worst QB in football over him is pretty insulting on his behalf.

He's on the practice squad though rather than an active roster too, so he's not technically stealing a roster spot.

NFL referees again changing a game.  I said it loooong time ago - well before the league gave the Cowboys the game against the SBCPE a few weeks ago - the players simply don't matter anymore.  The team in black and white stripes is the most powerful on the field, and has at least as much influence on the outcome of the game as the actual athletes.  Garbage-ass league.

I mean, I'll take it--that's four in a row. But daggone, if Marcus gets knocked out of one more game...

...Either way, good effort out there, Tennessee. I mean, you battled hard to beat a team led by a QB who hasn't even been heard from in well over four or five years, but whatever. I will credit Blaine Gabbert for showing some real moxie out there today. A W is a W.

Now let's see how they fare against the Colts next week here in town...

This Seattle fan here thanks the Snatit for doing their job. Washington was the only team that could jump past the Seahawks in the wild card race.
