They made an exception with two guys, not a universal reversal. A poster must reform themselves as a dupe before remotely being considered (which is why the appeals system is a good idea).

 

Unless something happens with the Stoolies, I doubt Tank will come back. We are mere ants in the afterbirth of his internet fame, looking on as the Stoolies push him to an even earlier grave.

 

I’m glad the mods realized their mistake and made the right decision. You guys came to the correct course of action after a brief bit of stumbling, and I know plenty of moderators who wouldn’t do that. Good for you. Hopefully, this will be a good moment for self-reflection as for how to run the community. As long as admiral gets the apology he deserves, I’m good with it.

The McCall banning was the one that most tangibly improved the boards for the better.  I absolutely hated seeing that he had entered a thread that I was interested in  His banning was the first one that I felt actually made this place more calm and civil.  Besides his inability to communicate without being confrontational, his not-so-veiled racism was on display in a lot of his posts, and he was one of the reasons I gave up on the concepts forum.

 

The McCall banning was certainly what was "best for business."

What I understood was Admiral, CRichardson were banned and reinstated and Tank was reinstated. My track record could be a bit off. But that's what I got from reading the last page or two.
