Looks like the mariners jerseys were all fouled up. The wordmark was way too big, and it was outlined in yellow, while the reference photo shows it in white.

Wow.  That’s not even close. 

 

If Chris’s reference photo is correct, they got the neck stripe colors backwards.  And they gave them Packers-style Braisher stripes on the cuffs and belt instead of blue/white/gold.

These uniform details are accurate for 1979.
