No, that's not unique to the Red Wings. The Rangers do it as well.

Like the Admiral anchor example, the vast, vast, vast majority of teams would not have the reason to use an anchor stripe.

 

"No other team uses Carolina's warning flag stripe in th he NHL". Well yeah...


However, many teams use hem stripes.  You just pointed out two that are executed in a very unique fashion... which I thought was the point of this topic.
