Wild Winger
then by your logic, Toronto couldn't be in the National League either. It's the National, not International League. If it's more than one country, it would be International, not National. So you'd also have to either get rid of 6 or 22 NHL teams, and bye-bye Raptors as well. Flawless plan there. Okay, I am not talking about hockey, I am talking about baseball. For one thing, when I think of National it makes sense for other nations to be involved. But, American? Doesn't exactly imply the Canada.

American could refer to the nation or the continent, which could include Canada. 2011/12 WFL Champions

Who said anything about having Mexican franchises? When Monterrey and Mexico City make bids for relocation or expansion franchises, it indicates that they are interested in having MLB teams in those cities. And North America includes Mexico, unless you don't want to count them. So we can't even call it the North American League. From now on, we will have a National League and a North America's Upper Two National Entities League. Well, for one thing, do they ever make bids for franchises? No. They can never rake in enough money to do so. And those people down are not going to support Hockey, Baseball, Football, or Basketball. The tix to a game would have to be extremely low in order for most of the people to attend a game.

Shmee
Well, for one thing, do they ever make bids for franchises? This article is from a year ago. Although it expressly states that Monterrey and San Juan are not likely to land the team, they each submitted bids. I'll find the article I read that mentioned Mexico City as a possible candidate. And why are Mexicans or Puerto Ricans any less likely to sit through a baseball game than New Yorkers? I am not syaing they won't sit there and watch it, it's that most of them probably wouldn't. I mean when the Expos cam to San Juan, nobody was really at those games. I have seen ESPN and photos of the games when the Expos came and there was not as many people as u would think.
habsfannova
Maybe it's because it's not their team. They should support a team they have only far better. And San Juan and Mexico are entirly different places and peoples...

yh
What's this about the Senators moving to St. Louis?--Roger "Time?" Clemente. It'll never happen. The Senators and the Maroons are the cornerstones of the NHL. Besides, St. Louis is way too far south to be a hockey market. Mark my words, Chicago is the furthest south the league will ever reach and I have my doubts as to that team's long-term prospects.
Lee.
Hear, hear! This is as preposterous as baseball on the west coast, for example, or professional football in the deep south. Completely absurd, and bordering on bunk of the highest order! Welcome to DrunjFlix
