Bob5150
Before I say anything, please know that this isn't a rant or a temper tantrum or anything. I love this board and website, and check them for new posts and concepts probably 5 times a day.The thing is, why doesn't anybody review my concepts? I have gotten maybe 6 reviews for 4 concepts. It's just frustrating when I post an Arizona Cardinals concept, and get one review. Then the next day, someone posts theirs and has 11 or 12. I'm sorry for taking up board space with this, but I was just wondering if maybe I was doing something wrong with my concepts.
Cuss16
it would be funny if no one replied to this thread as well. Just kidding of course. I have no idea why, I am not a big psoter, however I think you may simply need a catchier title to get more viewers. Just my 2-cent.
Chazberg
Well man I think in this case, it is because you sub-titled your thread "yeah, another one", which probably won't draw too many people in. Also, your concept is basically their uniform from 5 years ago, with the script under the collar, so there's not a whole lot to say about it. andrewharrington
i suppose if you post a lot and often you will get a rep and people will want to see your stuff. when i post, i usually reply to evryones critique of my work to kind of, explain and clarify in more depth what they may like or not like about it. that also keeps it bumped near the top. i like your stuff, esp the LA Angels concept, even though i never posted on it.but im new too, so i know i dont have any proven secrets for ya. Avenger
Following trends doesn't help in a situation like this. If everyone and their brother is posting Cardinal redesins, it's sure to get lost in the sauce.Another thing, you generally get more responses if something is remarkable, beit good or bad. Be thankful you didn't get 30-odd posts saying "Your design sucks."
the_cynic
For me, if it strikes my interest I'll usually reply with something. Keep in mind that I hardly have an opinion about hockey related issues. In case you're wondering why, it's just that I don't know the sport too well or for that matter really even care about it.FYI - I love your avatar! I've been thinking about going Van Halen too. Bob5150
Bs, you should definitly go to see VH! I was at both Philly shows, and I had the time of my life (well, what I remember anyway!)
the_cynic
Bs, you should definitly go to see VH! I was at both Philly shows, and I had the time of my life (well, what I remember anyway!) Too late, I already went to the Aug. 3rd show in Salt Lake City. It was by far the best concert I've ever been too. There really aren't too many artists that could top that Van Halen concert. Maybe U2 and possibly Michael Jackson but I doubt it. But anyway, VH was awesome and I'm glad it was Sammy instead of DLR.Van Halen #

Be thankful you didn't get 30-odd posts saying "Your design sucks." I have to agree. If everyone's posting concepts for the same team, post something for another team. If I see 4 Cards threads, and the first 2 don't impress me, chances are I'm not looking at the rest.

Bob5150
Blasphemy! Hey, look, it's a Rothtard. Sammy made =VH= better, deal with it.
paynomind
Oh geezus... please dont get me started on how bad Van Halen blows with Sammy Horrible, and how much they ruled with DLR. It wont be pretty.Back to the topic at hand;I think, quite frankly, the reason your concepts are not getting replies, is there is nothign to say. Wehn I viewed your cardinals jersey, here is what went through my mind:Whoa... another crap-ass Paint concept. Great, the Clemente template again. OK, so it is a red jersey, so what? What am I supposed to be looking at here? OK, so the name is too big, and he is too lazy to turn the shoulder numbers. Hmm.. no interesting striping, no risk of adding colors.... no patterns, no alternates... well.. thats boring, but at least its sloppily done.OK? I didn't want to put that as my comment. It woudl have been rude. When I sort through reams and reams of posts, where people have used paint to make a "new" version of the same.. oh, lets say about, 7 teams... I get bored. I lack things to say.So, to sum up:1.VanHagar Sucks, unless you are your mom, and like to listen to it while knitting, and if you are your own mother, get yourself to Ripleys. 2. Do something interesting and different in your concepts, and you will get people talking. Discriminator gets comments. His stuff is often ugly, but never boring, never plain, never lazy. Always creative. Thats what this board is about- creative. Be that, or.. don't, i guess.

Well you "might as well jump" off of a cliff and take your Van Hagar collection with you! Le zing! Two points!
Bob5150
Well, let's agree to disagree on our lead singer preference, but I think we can both agree that neither one of them would be anything without this guy:Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!
MidwestEagle
If VH sucks so much with Sammy, how come they ...1. sold more records?2. put out better songs? IE NO COVER TUNES (except We Wont Get Fooled Again, which they play live and was on the live album) 3. made more money?Face it VH with DLR..... Vh with Sammy.... Bob5150
Dude, you forgot A Apolitical Blues, the last track on OU812. Not to mention that every Sammy-era album went straight to #1. But then again, by the same token, Jessica Simpson or some other teenage brat is probably #1 now, so Billboard rankings aren't everything. Still, Sammy>Dave. MidwestEagle
MAn, I saw Vh on the Balance tour in 96, 2nd best show I have ever seen. And I am not saying that all DLR era VH songs suck, but they are 10 times better when Sammy sings them..IE Aint Talking Bout Love, IMHO, the best VH song ever
Bob5150
Don't get me wrong, I love the David Lee Roth era as well, I just prefer Sammy, is all. Maybe if I had seen VH with Dave live, I might have a different opinion, but I wasn't even born when he left the band, to embark on his, um, stellar solo career. Bob5150
And why do people think the Sammy Hagar era of Van Halen was all about poppy, love songs? Don't forget, Eddie writes the music, Sammy just does lyrics. These are the people who never gave Van Hagar a chance, never listened to The Seventh Seal, Don't Tell Me, Feelin', Humans Being, those kinds of songs. MidwestEagle
Dude, Im only 25, so I remember when they canned DLR, but I also grew up listening to Sammys solo stuff, and the stuff he did in Montrose, before he went solo. My dad is a huge Sammy fan. I remember everyone saying that VH was done when Sammy took over, BUT 5150 pretty much shut up the majority of the naysayers. And Humans Being is just a great song, too bad it was for a crappy movie. Feelin Is probably my favorite song off of Balance. And did anyone else notice that when they hired Gary Cherone from Extreme for VH III, the song Without You sounds more like a Sammy VH song than a DLR VH song?
