CS85
The logos/colors/etc are fine. There's design-wise nothing really objectionable, aside from the same designer/design firm doing every look. The major problem for me is that they all feel collectively devoid of history (because they are), so there's no sense of disparity between a timeless look, a vintage look, a retro look, and various shades of modern looks. It's all just kinda "Custom Madden Team" feeling. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. verno
Aside from the rather generic (in my opinion) look of this league, l am really curious how the on-field product will look. Does anyone forsee a season two? I think the slotting of their season could be intriguing, not a lot going on post Super Bowl, but paint me pessimistic. But, oddly, l hope I'm wrong

No. Give me a Tampa Bay Bandits or Jacksonville Bulls over an Orlando Thunder any day of the week. You can have your Montreal Machine. I'll take my Michigan Panthers. The Sacramento Surge goes lights out compared to the Oakland Invaders. The helmet logo, yeah, it sucked, but the double blue, gold and white rocked. The Birmingham... Birmingham... Birmingham... what the hell was the name of the WLAF Birmingham entry? Yeah. That's how memorable they were. The New York/New Jersey Knights were okay, but give me Herschel Walker reppin' the 5 colors J. Walter Duncan had the New Jersey Generals rockin'. I will readily admit the San Antonio Riders kicked the Gunslingers asses in terms of branding though, that certain USFL team identities did not stand up well against the test of time (Gamblers, Renegades, Gold) and that both London and Frankfurt in the WLAF were well done. I defy anyone, however, to show me a helmet (not whole ensemble, but just the helmet) that looked better than the 1983 Arizona Wranglers. They want to standardize everything for the launch and don't realize how they handcuff designers in the process. mkg74
And the wrong color to boot! their pants in '83 were gold color though and honestly it was pretty damn ugly uniform in '83 They got it right in '84 in what amounts to my favorite uniform of all time
WideRight
So we have the logos, names and colors, so uniforms are the next logical thing to reveal (that we care about, rosters is likely next). Here are my thoughts. ATLANTA: Want-- Purple helmets & Jerseys, Metallic gold pants. Will likely get-- Purple helets & jerseys, matte gold/tan pants. BIRMINGHAM: Want--Black helmets, black jersey with 2 tone silver/grey yoke, metallic silver pants Will likely get--black helmets, black jersey, matte grey pants MEMPHIS: Want-- White helmet (with tapered stripe), red jersey, white pants Will likely get-- Red helmet, red jersey, white pants ORLANDO: Want-- Orange helmet, Navy jersey (with orange yoke or sleeves), white pants Will likely get-- Navy helmet, navy jersey, white pants ARIZONA: Want-- Green helmet, green jersey, yellow pants Will likely get-- Green helmet, green jersey, yellow pants SALT LAKE: Want-- Silver helmet, royal jersey (with sky yoke), silver pants Will likely get-- Royal helmet, royal jersey, matte grey pants SAN ANTONIO: Want-- maroon helmet, maroon jersey, silver pants Will likely get-- silver helmet, maroon jersey, matte grey pants SAN DIEGO: Want-- Charcoal helmet, yellow jersey with charcoal/silver yoke or shoulders, charcoal pants Will likely get-- Charcoal helmet, charcoal jersey, white pants
CrimsonBull9584
I think Atlanta should go with a gold helmet with a purple facemark. The alternative is to go purple helmets, but I don't see that being a good look. I suppose white could work, but I do see gold as being the logical choice. RichO
Judging by the GIS results for "hot shot firefighter" if Arizona is going to do their uniforms right they'll go yellow jerseys over green pants at home. Red, white, or yellow helmets.

Mac the Knife
This thing is 35 years old, game worn and beat to ****, but it still the best damned looking football helmet I ever saw at the professional level. I'd end that sentence with "bar none," but given the circumstances will instead say "Bar W."

WideRight
Good arguments can be made for the Wranglers, Panthers and Breakers, all of which are top 10 all time. NFL has Rams, Eagles, Vikings and Seahawks at the top ( guess I love wrap around). WLAF or XFL both stuck to logo on side models that were not as inventive, though some of the logos were good.
