Yeah I think Boston is kinda screwed. They have the luxury of having a guy like Sale that can probably work on flexible rest, but the Dodgers can counter that with Kershaw.

And seriously. :censored: Ian Kinsler.

Sale is the guy I’d trust the least on short rest with his late season fatigue history.

this finally seems like a Bad Cora Move, but every time I think that I’m wrong, so we’ll see a Drew Pomeranz no-no tonight, probably.

The Dodgers have been to the World Series 20 times(!) and only won 6 of them. Yikes! That could possibly mean they'd lose 14 of them. Has a team in any other sports league lost more than that?

Coming into this World Series, the Dodgers having lost 13 of 19 World Series appearances is matched by the Boston Bruins having lost in their 13 of their 19 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final. The Detroit Red Wings have also lost 13 appearances in the Final to 11 wins (and that's after winning four of their last five times there, so they were once 7W-12L themselves).

Over in the NBA, the Lakers, for all their successes, are about .500 in Finals appearances. 16 wins, 15 losses.

In the NFL, the New York Giants have lost 14 times in the NFL Championship Game. Yes, I'm including the pre-Super Bowl era because, yes, professional football was played prior to 1966 and deserves to be acknowledged.

Well, if we’re being fair here, a LOT of NL clubs that are old have crappy World Series records because so many of them spent legit YEARS being the Washington Generals to the Yankees Globetrotters. The Giants aren’t much better at 8-23.

I applaud the eastern time zoners if you stayed up for that. I kept falling asleep on the couch and then dragged myself to bed in the 15th. At least it happened on a Friday night.

I can see what Cora was doing using Eovaldi that long because if you get a 3-0 series lead it's pretty much over, but it's possible that decision may have just cost them game 3 and game 4 and then Kershaw in LA rather than frigid Boston in Game 5 might be trouble.

Goddamn. I don’t feel at all bad for Madson, but I feel kinda crushed for Kenley.

Sort of.
