They can keep the current helmet logo, but bring back the 97-13 uniforms in their entirety. Maybe they could lighten the pewter a bit, since it looks brown now. I always loved the 'champagne' color the Michigan Panthers used in the USFL.

Lightening the pewter could go a long way, especially with the absence of sheen like on the previous set.

I found a couple concepts with lighter pewter:

Put me on team "go back to the Super Bowl era uniforms."  The pewter and that shade of red were unique and looked incredible.  The alarm clock numbers are terrible.. the garish "BUCS" on the sleeves are terrible.  I don't mind the exploded logo on the helmet.. you could keep that and go back to the old unis.

Leave it to the Bucs to follow up an article about their terrible uniforms by wearing the worst possible version of those terrible uniforms today against the Panthers.

That's definitely consideration for your "worst" list...

Both my wife and 10-year-old son called me to tell me just how ugly those uni--no, excuse me, how oogly those uniforms are. I mean, why though? I wonder what they think to themselves when they pass by the mirror and look at themselves in those things...

The color rush set isn’t very good, but it’s head and shoulders above their primary look right now. Pair that with a set of pants that matches the color of those numbers and it’s an improvement by default.

Also, my least favorite element of their look is the oversized helmet logo. It’s absolutely disgusting. The change from the last logo was the most pointless change I’ve ever seen and was one of the biggest downgrades of this whole mess. The previous logo was brilliantly good. The tweaks they made to it completely ruined it. I would be fine if they just ditched the logo and went back to the last one, even if they kept the alarm clock numbers or decided that they absolutey insisted on going back to the creamsicles.

See? This is callied grief, people. I’m at the bargaining stage.

I don't see the Bucs ditching the current uniforms in favor of the '97-'13 set. But I think they could go back to the original creamsicle look, which is my favorite Bucs look and a favorite among many in Tampa. But I'd suggest adapting the '97-'13 flag logo to the creamsicle orange color, similar to the logo in this concept, to use instead of Bucco Bruce. I don't love the entire concept, but the logo is a great idea. The flag is a great symbol of the team around the city, seen on businesses, homes, around the stadium, and a huge one at their practice facility. I love the colors and solid striping of the original look, combine that with an adapted '97-'13 flag logo would be a perfect Bucs look to me.

Right color scheme, wrong application. Who's ever heard of a creamsicle-orange pirate flag?

My argument on Buccaneers logos going forward has been that while the old colors can and should come back, the logos need a new direction altogether, departing almost as much from the tattered cartoon Jolly Roger as that logo did from the pirate that everyone said was gay. I like the idea of a pirate ship as their primary logo, and they have that as an alternate in the set right now, but I know there are some serious design issues with the masts and so forth.

It's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be, and some CCSLCers have done remakes that take a lot of the poorly aged, Pat Patriot-esque hiccups out of it and get it back up to speed -- more successfully than attempts at Pat Patriot, at that.

But I get the losing stink, and the stark turnaround that came with the new stuff. I will note, though, that the Buccaneers' coming of age from 1997-2000 was a four-year period where I watched the end of the Rams-Titans Super Bowl and very little else (i.e., I was checked out of the NFL from between the Packers winning a Super Bowl to the 2001 Bears pulling 13 wins out of their ass), and maybe that's as much a reason as any that I cannot understand the emotional attachment to a set I'm not impressed with.

I feel like I’m the only person who hates the new logo about as much as I hate the new uniforms. I hate the way the updates the pirate to look like some kind of terminator. And the new football. The old pirate was really well done. And the flag was more “logo-shaped” in some way.

No, you’re not. I actually hate the new logo more than I even hate the new uniforms, because it was a complete and total downgrade. The previous logo was absolutely perfect, IMO. The new logo looks like a rendering made by a five year old.

Agreed.  The old one looked like it was lifted right off a pirate’s treasure map. The new Terminator logo is just awful, clean where it should be a little rough.

These right here should have been totally LEFT ALONE!!

This was a perfect example of making a uniform change just for the sake of making one (Seattle too from their second set, but that's a whole 'nother story)

Had they just let them extend their life there'd be no reason to even be having this conversation thread.
