I'm so glad to see the Kings are going to wear this again. It's one of my all time favorites. The powder blue is cool but this and the split purple and black jersey are my favorites out of everything the Kings have worn.

Those look SO good. I could be wrong but it looks like they took a little bit of liberty with the front number size, which is a great thing, as I recall them historically being a bit too big. That looks like a good size. This is very clean indeed, I’m a fan of it!

I'm torn because the baby blue for Sacramento is more distinctive for them -- but the royal blue just looks nice, and it's a nice bridge to the purple era.

And they sure looked better with a proper script rather than their series of bad trend-chasing metal typefaces.

I doubt it will ever happen but I wish the pelicans would do throwbacks for those New Orleans hornets unis. Those have a special place in New Orleans history considering they were the cp3 era and the pelicans really don’t have much jersey history. I’m pretty sure the pelicans history with unis consisted of: New Orleans jazz jerseys, hornets jerseys (two different sets) and one pelicans set of jerseys

the pelicans would make some crazy money selling these with Zion

I wonder if someone in a position of power might find this to be awkward, now that the proper Hornets are back in the league. I always thought the bluer blue and the touches of yellow that the New Orleans Hornets used set them off very nicely from both Charlotte Hornets eras, though. This seems like a strong candidate for a historical mashup type of jersey, which is what this wacky Nike uniform scheme ought to be doing anyway IMO.

These are very good. I like these a lot. They remind me of the VERY early Arco Arena days (The old converted office building that came before the last iteration of Arco/SleepTrain/PowerRubberBand barn).

And the thing is, the ONLY reason the Kings even wore baby blue instead of the typical royal they wore during that era was due to a screwup made by the local jersey manufacturer they used at the time. They were supposed to produce royal blue jerseys, but instead shipped the Kings baby blue uniforms. By the time the Kings realized what happened, and how much it was going to cost to replace them, they just said screw it and went with baby blue.

The Sacramento Kings in baby blue is legit THE most Sacramento Kings story that could possibly Sacramento Kings.

@Conrad. Will you be saying what teams are Getting Classic Uniforms? You told us the past 2 years. If not, why can’t you?

Probably won't be coming with that info, sadly. The company I work for now has a relationship with Nike, so I can't get too crazy with the info-sharing. That's the price I pay for getting this better job in the industry, doing what I love. 🤷‍♂️

Sacramento Kings Unveil New Classic Throwback Uniform

July 2, 2019 - 15:10 PM

Last night the Sacramento Kings revealed the throwback “classic edition” uniform the team will wear for a handful of games during the upcoming 2019-20 NBA season. A tribute to the look of the Kings from 1991 to 1994, the uniform […]

That updated/modernized/poor-attempt-at-the-original script is a mess.

In 03 I think it was when they first wore KC Kings throwbacks they updated/modernized the logo. The same logo from 03 appeared on their gold alternate uniforms and has since been the version the team uses of that logo.

I'm sure throughout the years it's been slightly different. Hell even the 2 examples from the past you used are slightly different from each other.

Is it possible Miami is switching to Vice full time? Like others, I'm on board. It's a unique color scheme, and would make up for how the Marlins dropped the ball.

Those Kings uniform -- and especially that script! -- are really nice. The Kings had a good run in purple and black in the early 2000s, but is there any affection for the color scheme? I feel like a change to something a little more organic and much less sterile would be well received. Likely for the Kings fanbase and most other NBA fanbases as well. I.e., more Lakers, less Thunder. More Vice Heat, less Hawks. And certainly less whatever is going on in Houston.

The Vice theme has been beaten to death.  Give me the standard Heat look 10 times outta 10 over them.  Vice set reeks of try hardism.  The standard Heat set are modern classics, simple, clean, timeless.

I agree. As a City Jersey ... two years MAX on the theme, just like the Jazz's Sunset Jerseys ... it shouldn't be a permanent jersey. Rotate it in and out.

Have these been posted yet? 👀spacer.pngspacer.png

Anyways...Won't lie, I'm getting a bit tired of the vice theme. I still believe their first identity remains to be beaten.

Edit: Though the blue jersey has been confirmed as legit, this particular jersey looks like a fake to me. There are six good ways to tell it’s a fake; for one, real Swingmans don't have a thick outer outline of the NBA logo at the back neck. The back neck NBA/Nike info is far more muted.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Is that cyan? I thought it was royal blue, but the pink looks like red so the blue could be cyan.

Anyway, I think even the Heat know that they should be using the Vice uniforms as their primary uniforms.

The numbers were huge. I think the Kings had the largest numbers in the league for years but I could be wrong. No idea why.

The vice uniforms are dead, according to a Heat writer on twitter. https://uproxx.com/dimemag/heat-retiring-cursed-black-miami-vice-uniforms/2/

Now does that just mean the BLACK vice jerseys are dead? That's how I read it. 😐
